I like smallish birthday parties.
When I was a kid we used to invite 3, 4 or 5 friends and that was it. Everything was quite easy to arrange.
Now people like to invite the whole class, and you have 20+ or 30+ kids so you end up hiring some professional services because you just can't handle that many kids.
In all honesty I'm glad covid forced us to go back to smaller parties.
I don't bake much either.
And my son is not a fan of cakes. He did not want one for his last two birthdays. Nutella sandwiches it was. Nothing can be easier
As a kid I loved the classic biscuits + custard + chocolate cake.
It's very popular here because it's easy enough for kids to make, and requires no baking.
