From The Book of Questions by Gregory Stock.

Question #65: When you tell a story, do you often exaggerate or embellish it? If so, why?

Yeah, I tend to do it a lot. Mostly when it comes to numbers.
Like if I woke up a lot during the night, I'll say "I woke up like 500 times!"

I guess I tend to do it to make people laugh.
And I just have the habit of saying whatever comes to mind sometimes xD
Especially when I'm angry.

"I'll miss the winter
A world of fragile things
Look for me in the white forest
Hiding in a hollow tree (come find me)
I know you hear me,
I can taste it in your tears."

I may embellish a little to make it funnier.
I would never distort the truth at the expense of someone else though. I noticed my mother does this a lot. When she retells a story, if you were there when it actually happened, you would swear she must be talking about a totally different experience.
