Both cakes are local here in Poland. Both are also traditional. I'm baking Mazurek for Easter and yeast cake for my parents, since they asked me to do so. There'll be a yeast cake already, so I think we're not going to take it with us.
Well, Mazurek is actually baked only for Easter. It doesn't have a name in English, but you can google it

It's usually very sweet and very decorative. There are also many kinds of it. I'm making an almond one, much less sweet than what you can buy, since I don't like sweets.
Yeast cake is universal, but it's often eaten here during holidays.
