I'm used to not having a lot of money.
I'm usually broke after I pay my bills at the beginning of the month.
So I try to spend as little as possible, thus I am a cheapass.
I wear clothes and shoes until they're full of holes and unwearable.
My current shoes - the soles are falling off, but I can still use them, so I still wear them.
I buy the cheapest clothes I can and they will last a good while.
I try to buy food that will be filling and last because I can't just buy food whenever.
I didn't mean if you work hard or save up and you buy something you always wanted.
If you feel that you can use it and cherish it - then that's good.
But people that just spend on things they don't really need and don't even care about - it irks me.
I don't get why you'd spend tons of money on stuff you don't plan to use.
If you're not going to drive a car that much, why buy it?
If you're not going to live in a big fancy house much, why buy it?
If I got money and bought a car, I'd use it always.
If I got money and bought a nice house, I'd live in it always.
And I think it's cool that a parent can buy their kids expensive stuff, but if they don't appreciate it or cherish it, then you shouldn't spend all that money on them.
Like the cake and the little girl - it was cool that her mom wanted her to have an awesome birthday, but she's little and she doesn't understand how much stuff is, so she was upset with the cake.
Or parents that do everything for their kids and don't teach them to be grateful.
If I was rich, I'd buy all kinds of stuff for my little sister.
But if she was ungrateful, I wouldn't buy her anything else until she knew what it meant.
I'm sorry if I came across ignorant or hateful.
I just don't understand how people can spend so easily on things they won't take care of or use or anything xD
I always tell people "If that shirt is $100, it had better be self-cleaning."
Or "A $500 fidget spinner? It had better cook and clean too."
I don't know the truthfulness of it, but someone said that rich people were asked what poor people would do if they got a lot of money.
Apparently we'd all buy drugs and alcohol.
I don't do drugs and I can't drink, so no.
A lot of people I know would save and invest.
So you're right, Fran.
Money doesn't last unless you put some away or put it into things that will keep money coming in.
Like when people win the lottery and quit their job.
When the money is gone, you will need a job.
I try to give what I can to charity.
I even want to go to work at a soup kitchen or Meals on Wheels.
I know how it is to not be able to get food or leave home to get food.
I also try to donate some of my clothes, but you have to watch who you donate to.
There seems to be people stealing from some of those clothes donation things.
Which is shitty in itself <__<
