I'm reading this article from the Washington Post, about people in West Virginia who get health care through the ACA and voted for Trump. It's beautifully written and really illuminating--but also really frustrating. Like the man who blames the Affordable Care Act for the changes to his private insurance--changes that were implemented by the company he works for that provides his insurance, not the Affordable Care Act. Or the lady who is angry about a loophole in the Medicare system who thinks the ACA is causing the loophole when really the ACA has a provision to slowly close the loophole over a number of years.
So the first guy doesn't understand how he gets his health insurance and the second lady doesn't know what the ACA is. And that's why they're going to lose insurance? Because they just
don't understand? I mean, who can blame them?! I certainly don't understand this health policy stuff and I'm making a real effort.
Ugh.
