So they skipped over the most important part because they are kitties? How stupid are theses people now a days. The important things should come first. Ugh. Media is kinda getting dumber I think.

I'm sorry I can't offer much intelligent conversations.
I'm not good at that stuff.

But I went to the store a couple days ago, and I noticed there was a man in a turban.
I'm pretty sure he was a Sikh, because that's what I saw when I learned what a Sikh was.
And I remembered how a Sikh was attacked not long ago, because he was a "Muslim".
There was also a non-white man attacked for being Muslim, and he was a CHRISTIAN.
I can't stand the fucking ignorance in this country.
Anyways, I was worried someone would bother him, but no one cared.
Everyone was just doing their own thing.
And I saw him when we were leaving, and he was smiling.
He was just watching people shop and there were a lot of kids.
He reminded me of a grandpa, just watching his grandkinds.
He didn't look threatening or dangerous at all.

That's what pisses me off about people in this country.
Unless you have met someone, or have proof they're not good, you don't do or say shit >__>
And even if people have done bad things in the past, that doesn't make them bad people.
My parents did bad, stupid shit, and to think someone would piss on them just because of that - makes me angry.
Everyone does stupid or bad things, but that doesn't always make them bad people.

Here's another example:
There was an elderly woman who lived across from us.
She was always angry and yelling.
Well, she had a plum tree that was in bloom, so me and my friend were picking blossoms.
The woman opened the door and looked at us, and I was like "Oh, shit..."
And she said "You girls be careful! There's bees around there :3" and went back inside.
I assumed she was mean and angry, but she wasn't.

I don't like Trump, no matter what someone says about him.
But this guy was wearing a hat that said "Make America Great Again", and he wasn't doing anything.
These anti-Trump people were yelling at him, saying he had to take it off because he was racist/sexist/etc.
I don't like Trump or the hat, but he wasn't doing anything.
He was just wearing a HAT.
You're the idiot if you harass him and jerk the hat off of his head.
Why? Because you make yourself and people like you look like closed-minded assholes.
If he was causing trouble, then I'd understand the aggression.
But to my knowledge, he was minding his own business.
If he did that to them, they'd be pissed and say "FREEDOM OF SPEECH!"

I don't care what people do, think or feel - as long as they're not hurting anyone or anything.
As mentioned above, you don't have to like everything.
But don't do something to others, you'd consider wrong if it was done to you.

Here's what I can say about that...

In a perfect world, we all treat each other with kindness and respect.

We do not live in a perfect world.

In the world we live in, the man wearing that hat voted for a man who represents pain and suffering to me, my family and our loved ones, among millions upon millions of others. Trump represents racism, misogyny, greed and oppression to a lot of people.

Maybe the man wearing that hat doesn't personally hate brown people. But he didn't think hating brown people was a good enough reason not to vote for someone. If he wants to build a wall along the southern border, then he is someone who would rather destroy the environment and bankrupt the country for a meaningless symbol than actually do something to solve any problems.

Trump's election has created a surge of anti-Semitism and he is putting avowed white supremacists and supporters of neo-nazis in his cabinet. I am Jewish. It is not an exaggeration to say Steve Bannon's presence in the White House is a direct threat to my very life. The man in the hat voted for that. He voted for the hate crimes. He voted for violence. He voted for suffering. He voted to put my life in danger.

I do not think we will get anywhere by attacking the people who voted for Trump. But in my opinion they did something truly horrendous by voting for him, and I cannot judge those who cannot forgive. Not when I am living in constant terror for my life and will be for at least the next 4 years.

Yes, I understand this.

I guess my point is you can't fight hate and violence, with hate and violence.
And it's horrible that these acts continue because of said Trump, and he faces no charges for it.
People can continue to commit crimes, based on what he seems to represent.
So people think it's perfectly LEGAL/SANE to act out in violence.

This is so fucked up.
We shouldn't be slaughtering each other.
We shouldn't have to fear for our safety, just because of what we are.
I hate violence and fighting, but that's the only option we're being given.
The hate crimes are steadily piling up, and no one is trying to stop them or punish bigots.
So if the government can't protect their citizens, the citizens have to do it themselves.
When push comes to shove, you have to start shoving.

:qh: I understand what you mean. And I'm sorry for being so forceful. Normally I'm a much better communicator, but lately I've been....eh...overly blunt. It's like, normally I talk to people and try to understand. Right now I'm just like, f*ck off world. I'm very slowly getting back to normal...I hope I'll be fine soon.

I agree with the both of you to be honest. I can see where you are coming from Pwale and it's completely understandable why you are feeling the way you are. I am really sorry. I'm sure you will get back to your old self soon. Take your time with it. I understand how you are feeling hun.

I am so glad that Sikh was left alone Moi. So nice to hear things like that going on right now. I hope more stories like that and more things like that happen in the upcoming days. And months and the next 4 years.

If I don't say much it's because I'm in pain. My back pain has been here for over 2 weeks and I got another week and half or so of it until I can buy a new mattress when I get the SSI money. So I appologize for not being able to have a full conversation with everyone.

Take good care of yourself saiyouri! Back pain is the WORST.

I don't know much about the Sikh faith, but the little I do know is fascinating. I've done a little research when I was learning about tikkun olam (a Jewish concept, the phrase is Hebrew and it means "repair the world" and it's an idea that is very important in Jewish social justice efforts) because the Sikh also have a deep dedication to social justice and protecting the disadvantaged.

Thank you Pwale, I am trying my best and so is the fiance. Threatening me and ordering me to behave myself (in good ways of course so I take it easy).

That is a nice pretty phrase. I like it alot. I don't know anything about Sikh at all. But it's nice knowing that they are good people. I researched Judaism in high school when I was looking for a religion that fit me. Found out alot that made me happy.

Did you guys see Trevor Noah's interview with Obama? It's great. http://www.cc.com/full-episodes/dd2z7w/ ... 2-ep-22036

I think Obama raises some important points when Noah asks him about Russian interference in the election. It's very, very, very important to fully investigate interference and make sure it never happens again, but we also have to confront the question of why it worked. How have we become so weak that Russia could do this to us?

God that interview was amazing. I loved it. I'm so happy to see Obama talking honestly. I could tell he was careful of what to say but he did a great job at it.

I have no idea on Russia anymore. I hope we can figure out how they manage it all the time.
