Who are your favorite book characters? From an individual book or an entire series?
Some of my favorites are Luna Lovegood and Hermione Granger from Harry Potter; Nanny Ogg and Granny Weatherwax from the Discworld series; Gurgi and Eilonwy from The Prydain Chronicles; Agnes Nutter from Good Omens.

I think Julian Kestrel from the Kate Ross quartet was probably my first book-character-crush. I'm super fond of Dipper as well, in the same series, but Kestrel had most of my interest. Well, we all go through a phase where we swoon over a tragic-past-fiercely-honorable-present type, right? Whichever gender we are attracted to. Female versions tend to be more ineffectually vulnerable while male versions tend to be super-effective and hidden-vulnerability, but the core of the type is the same.
I also adore Sally from Tiger in the Well (not as fond of her in the other books -it's by Phillip Pullman-), and I really adore both Sannabalis and the Arkon from Michelle Sagara's "Cast In" series.
Oh, and Teela, from the same series. I'm actually quite tired of the protagonist in that series, but as she's mostly just a means to explore the world that's not a big barrier to enjoying the books.
I've got a HUGE soft spot for Captain Samuel Vimes of the Ankh-Morpork city guards. I mean, yes, DEATH is a good character. But Vimes is an amazing character. Terry Pratchett writes with true insight.

I liked Sabriel quite a bit from her series. Touchstone wasn't bad, either. Neither was Mogget. I quite liked Mogget.
Good series lol.
Lirael was nicely written, too. Mmf I wanna read them again now...
No shout-outs for Tyrion from A Song of Ice & Fire? He's even better in the books, imo.
Mmm and Arya. Always Arya. Arya always. 4 lyf.
I'm very FOTM.
Jamie Lannister has a lot more depth, too. I like his character. Idgaf. Fite me.

Masterharper Robinton from the Pern books!
And, with qualifications, the narrating character from "He Drank, and Saw the Spider". Eddie Lacrosse. I don't care much for his actual character in the how-he-is-as-a-person sense. I mean, it's an admirable type I'm sure but I don't really care about that so much as I adore his voice. Um, the way he phrases things; he's a book character, obviously I've never heard an actual voice from him.
Sophy, from Georgette Heyer's "The Grand Sophy". She's amazing!
Miles Vorkosigan from the Vorkosigan saga. Although, he's one of those characters where it's not so much that I am attached to the character (although I am, reluctantly, attached the character!) as I am enthralled by watching the chaotic mess that happens around him.
Lord Peter Wimsey. From the Dorothy Sawyers books. Now there's a character where I utterly adore the character.
Narl and Rosie from Spindle's End.
Alanna from the Lioness Quartet.
Morwen from The Enchanted Forest quartet, and Eff from the Frontier Magic/Thirteenth Child books.

Jules from the Suzanne Brockman books (the Troubleshooters ones, mostly, but I think there is character spillover into some of the others)
