Oh, the Obama thing is just obnoxious bullshit. I mean, it's pants. It's just fucking pants. Here's the snopes fact check (I love snopes so much) http://www.snopes.com/presidential-erection/

It's a really stupid and lame attempt to distract from all the women accusing Trump of sexual assault. It won't work.

I keep repeating what Michele Obama said during the DNC...when they go low, we go high.

If I keep repeating it often enough, maybe it will come true and we won't have to slog through this for another month.

On the other hand, it's so beautiful watching all these women come forward because Trump lied on the debate stage and they're not going to let him get away with that. It reminds me of what the congressmen told us in class last semester. "You can't point to a blue sky and say it's raining cats and dogs." He meant that spin works, but only up to a point. In this case, Trump can't say he never groped women when there's god knows how many women all across the country (and probably the world, given his history) who have been groped by Trump. It just doesn't work.

Haha I'm glad to hear that. One thing I noticed this morning which I wanted to talk to you about. Was on twitter there was a trend called #womenwhovotetrump. Well most were saying Clinton is an enabler, Bill is a rapist, Clinton hates women votes against them for everything and the one who was against Trump; people responded saying she's a radical and some other crap. Oh and one person I saw mention that Trump is against the whole Syria fight and we need to stay out of it because we will get nothing from it and something about there is a huge Tuberculous issue in Minnesota right now and the government doesn't care.

Half this stuff I never heard of. Like never once heard that Bill was accused of rape or assault in that matter. Where is this all coming from? Either I was so out of the loop with news or it's underground stuff that not many hear about.

I'll try to go point by point.

1: Bill Clinton

Bill Clinton has never been convicted of sexual assault, but he has been accused of it by several women, and I personally find at least one of those stories to be credible. However, Bill Clinton isn't running for president. I once read a book by the man who first discovered Clinton's affair with Lewinsky, and he described how when he met Clinton's other accusers they were surrounded by and being groomed by men in the far right (what would soon become Drudge and Breitbart). So I know that many of the women who accused Bill Clinton have been groomed to attack the Clintons for decades by the same men who are now running the Trump campaign. This makes it hard for me to trust anything they say, even if I find their story credible. Finally we get to the point where unless one of these women is willing to go to court, none of this actually seems to matter.
And again, Bill Clinton isn't running for president.
In short, is Bill Clinton kinda skeevy? Yeah, absolutely. Fortunately, no matter who wins in November, Bill Clinton isn't going to be the next President of the United States.

When people talk about Bill's affairs and the allegations against him, they're saying that Hillary is responsible for her husband cheating on her. Which is insane and stupid and insulting and implies that a woman, yes even a married woman, has an obligation to perform sexually whenever it is demanded, which actually IS sexual assault, or that if her husband cheats it's because there is something wrong with her.

Luckily, it is 2016 and the vast majority of us know that is bullshit and that Bill Clinton is just a creep who likes abusing his power and that has nothing to do with Hillary.

I think I've said this before but can anyone really blame her for having a blindspot for her husband and being protective of her family? Because when people call her an "enabler" they mean she still believes what her husband told her about the women he was involved with and when they say she "attacked" the women they mean she got angry when she was asked as First Lady to respond to another woman's graphic descriptions in tabloids of having sex with Bill.
And when they say she "threatened" they mean she said "thank you for your discretion" and sure that isn't great when you find out she told that to a woman who is accusing Bill of rape, except then you realize Bill probably told Hillary it was consensual and so she was just being a good political wife.
And then there's the fact that back then, all of this behavior was common and usual.

So basically, it's an ugly dark hole that none of us need to go back into ever again.

2: Trump's plan in Syria

Appears to be:

Step 1: Bomb the hell out of them.
Step 2: Let Russia figure it out.
Step 3: Take all the oil.

...none of this makes any sense and it is not an actual plan. And when journalists ask him about it he says he has a secret plan, which is a great plan, which the generals will tell him once he's president, which he will not listen to because the generals don't know what they're doing.

So...whatever any of that means, it won't end well.

I'm not sure if the TB thing is even true, but even if it is it's not a big deal. In the United States, TB is mostly a risk for people without access to medical care or with compromised immune systems. The news articles about this story in Minnesota come from Breitbart, which tells me they probably AREN'T true. But even if they were, it's not a big deal.
That whole story is just part of a campaign to make people think refugees bring scary diseases. It's just xenophobia.

Basically, a TB story would be worrying if it was in a rural area without healthcare like rural Tennessee or Mississippi, but not so much in a major city like Minneapolis, which is where the Somali immigrant community in the region is based.

It's generally safe to assume that every single thing Breitbart posts is a lie.

It wasn't always that way. They used to be ultra-conservative, but they still did basic journalism. But all the real journalists left last year when Trump's first campaign manager assaulted one of their reporters and the Breitbart management decided to side with the Trump campaign instead of one of their own. Ever since they have been completely taken over by the conspiracy theorists and Neo-nazis.

Ok that makes all sense. It's true he's not running for president and what the hell does a woman have to do with a man cheating? From my personal experience... it's not your damn fault. Not unless you tell him to go and bang someone else and then get upset, but I don't think many people do that. (not counting jokes but jokes are nothing but that)

Sad how his team has to do this just to make idiots go and blame her for something her husband did. I wished people would stop and think for once instead of just following what everyone else seems to think. Which is what I keep seeing on twitter.

There is so much bs on there that when I read it. I'm like.... OMG this is enough crap for my eyes today and leave. It's like the younger people today don't seem to know what's important unless they experience hell in some form then they pay attention to what's real and what's not. I'm starting to wonder how the election will turn out. Hopefully in favor of the right person and not the one who keeps spewing hate and other horrible things.

I wished media was what it was like a wayyyy long time ago. Even though it was bad when I was growing up, seems like it's worse now than before.

I think the media is worse in some ways than it was before. I'm hoping there will be a lot of soul searching after November.

I'm voting third party. I feel like both of them are literally the worst human beings on the planet. It would kind of be great if they went into a debate hall and were cryogenically frozen until next year, after they've already been replaced by their vice presidents for the election. At least both VP candidates seem like they'd be pretty ok people. But the Republicans could've found a better businessman, and the Democrats could have found a better woman. And while I'm in my fantasy world, the Libertarians could have nominated someone who isn't an idiot, and the Greens could have nominated someone who wasn't whacko. But, no, it's guaranteed that, no matter who wins, I'm going to want to punch the TV on a daily basis for the next 4 years.

I just have this feeling about both Trump and Hillary that they're only doing it for the resume enhancement, and not because either of them actually gives a crap about us plebs.

Welcome Asta!

Yeah, I can definitely understand where you're coming from. That being said, I don't think it's quite fair to equate Mike Pence with Tim Kaine.

That's probably not where you thought I was going. Okay, let me explain.

So Tim Kaine (Democratic VP) seems like a normal, nice enough, sweater kind of guy. He reminds me of Mr Rogers crossed with a 9th grade math teacher. He's been a mayor and governor and the chairman of the DNC, so he has governing experience and political relationships. He was governor during the Virginia Tech shooting and his most controversial policies involve carrying out the death penalty--which I personally don't agree with but nevertheless was the law in his state at the time. That's all I know about Tim Kaine right now.

Mike Pence, on the other hand....

Mike Pence started off as a radio call-in show shock jock, then became a congressman and governor. He has said he believes in "gay conversion therapy" which has been debunked by science, disavowed by psychiatry, and condemned by numerous human rights groups. He says that gay people are responsible for the spread of HIV, which still doesn't explain why he STILL hasn't approved the emergency relief funds for the part of his state that is currently dealing with a full on AIDS epidemic (http://www.npr.org/2016/03/31/472577254 ... diana-town) nevermind that the outbreak started over a year ago. He has said, in Congress, that same sex marriage will bring about the destruction of society. He's said that condoms don't stop STDs, and if anyone doesn't understand why that's a big deal MAY I REMIND YOU ABOUT THE OVER 200 PEOPLE WHO HAVE CONTRACTED AIDS IN INDIANA IN GOD DAMN 2016. (Admittedly, it seems that most people have gotten the disease from sharing needles--but Pence also doesn't support clean needle exchanges) He signed into law an anti-abortion bill that was so extreme it required miscarriages to be cremated or buried in a state-approved way and reported to the state government. Not only is that a gross violation of privacy and a huge government overreach, it doesn't make any sense and shows a basic lack of understand of female anatomy. That's right. The law criminalized menstruation. The way the law was worded, women in Indiana were technically required to have a funeral for the egg they dispelled during their period and then report that to the government.
Now, of course Pence didn't mean that. And I don't think he appreciated the #PeriodsforPence movement it started, but that's kinda the point. Pence passes laws that he doesn't understand even a tiny bit.
AND THEN THIS MORNING I read that Pence is trying to suppress the black vote in his state. Pathetic.

So not only is he a creep, he's a gay bashing, woman hating racism-exploiting creep. Tim Kaine is more smarmy than creepy.

Welcome Asta.

..... How ... the... hell ... does... he plan... to suppress....... voting of ..... people? ............ That sentence made me think... WTF?!?!?!

I knew of some of the other stuff about retard Pence. Not the details of the law he put in for women but knowing now it... OH MY GOD. Doesn't he have women in his family? It's... It's just... OMG. I can't believe people like him even exist. They think all this stuff about women bodies that none of it comes even a tiny particle close to the truth.... My brain is going to colapse at this rate.

I have no idea anymore about people. But at least him and Trump are perfect for one another.
