Same, I'm not familiar with Brave. My favourite lesser-known browser back in the day was Flock.

When I changed computers I did some browser research; Brave was recommended as being one of the better ones in terms of utility, privacy, and ease-of-use.

It is SO CONVENIENT in that I can wander all over the web carelessly and never worry about annoying pop-up ads and similar. There's a number of sites that I think are easy to use when I'm on Brave, and then I go somewhere else and go to the url and find out they are awful on a "normal" browser because ads are everywhere... but I don't even see them on Brave.

It's like Adblock used to be, before it was sold and went weird and so many sites started doing that awful "We see you are using adblock, please whitelist our site because ad revenue blah blah".... um, no. If you want money from me, ask in a courteous and respectful manner like putting a convenient donation link somewhere, or just paywall it. Don't patronize me with those awful ads that aren't giving you that much revenue anyhow and keep me from using your site the way you say you designed it to be used, and then try to stand on moral high ground to make me go through aggravation after I paid money to adblock to get rid of it... it's a nuisance.

Anyhow.

Point is.

I recommend it.

An effective sales pitch for me. I'm going to look into it, especially if they have a mobile version. I can't research anything for work or recipes on my phone because not only are the webpages zoomed in to a useless 2em+ font, 75% of the page is ads, video ads, and then comes the email subscription popup to cover-up everything. The over-scripting tends to crash my browser too.

I run with three different adblockers on Firefox. They aren't quite programmed right, because on my website, the only ads I display are 1-2 through ComicAd.net. It'll block those (acceptable), but also random images that are part of my site, like the "click here to start at the beginning of the story" link (not acceptable) and the link to the RSS feed (not acceptable) for people who prefer to get site updates by RSS instead of social media or email. ComicAd is an okay-enough replacement for dear Project Wonderful. PW was the best ad company ever. You had full control over what showed on your site, and since they were dedicated only to creative people, you actually got useful ads for other comics, writers, crafters, Etsy, and related cool stuff. And I include links to adblockers to visitors who don't even want to see that little bit. I believe websites should focus on product sales for revenue, not 3rd-party ads. If it's not a labour of love and you can't sell cookbooks, hoodies, or whatever enough to cover your time and expenses, maybe digital commerce is not for you.

I don't have anything on Brave except the browser itself.
So happy with it.

There are a few sites I have to specifically whitelist before they work, though.
My bank... KofK... the local library.
But for most stuff, it doesn't matter. Like reading webnovels online, or looking up how to make a plaster cast, or best pricing on flights to see family, or whatever else like that.

Hm... I admit I'm intrigued as well x3
I should look into it or at least into alternative browser's. I never really paid much attention to it but sometimes I'm unhappy with chromes performance and I think a lot of that might be related to adds
I'm not really good at getting used to something new that's why I always stick with the stuff I know even though it might not always be the best option available ^^°

I very much feel you on that! I didn't look at browsers until I had to get a new computer. With a new computer, it was all going to be new anyhow, so it seemed less of a barrier at that point.
I'm still sad about losing all my old bookmarks on the old computer...
