LOL!

Ahh. Still, that's as bad as when the book I'd ordered arrived covered in slime.

Found a mobile game that reminds me of the old click games. It's called Cats Are Cute.

Eh, at least the rest of the dolls' outfits were in the book, and I have a base for designing my own outfits for the dolls. Plus I have the missing images, plus bonus ones from other newspapers of the era (The dolls are from the 1895 Boston Herald's Sunday Herald, which they also licensed to other newspapers around the country).

I like Neko Atsume, but I also have given Cats & Soup a try.

Can you show me a doll picture?

Cats and Soup is lovely, and fun, but it's just too demanding for my phone and tablet. I've got the Cats are Cute and Secret Cat Forest now. First one's a tapper as well as a collector, and some of the cats prowl the neighbourhood (each cat owns a building), second one's just a collector, but the art's really pretty. The cats talk and move if you tap them, too, after they've leveled up.

The two dolls are 10.5 inches/26.67 centimeters. There's a "blonde" (really she's closer to what I'd consider a brunette), and a "Brunette" (Black haired).

Here's an image showing both of them in their boonies, which are way more modest than modern boonies lol.

I haven't decided what outfits I want to put them in first.

Oh so pretty. Yeah, she looks brunette or auburn, how funny.

LOL! I'm reminded of the comment made by the lady that does clothing and shoe documentaries on YouTube (Nicole Randolph? Something like that). She was like, "Since we all basically run around in our underwear nowadays."

And my own laughter when I brought the magnetic flat wooden Rapunzel doll to a friend at church so he could make her a stand. I was amused at her being at church in her underwear. Which was corset and bloomers.

Blue ones? You like blue. They probably don't have orange.

Also, I wanted to thank you for still talking to me.

Nicole Rudolph! I love her channel. She hasn't done any shoemaking on the channel in awhile, but I enjoy her history lessons. And she's right. Compared to the past, we *are* basically boonie streaking.

I wanna make Victorian-era inspired clothing (not "historical Victorian clothing" because there's no such thing as "historical accuracy"!), and I've got specific years picked out, plus one that is specifically a Couture gown from the 1860s that is actually orange (it's a gorgeous orange, too!)

Yeah, no orange, but not really any blue ones aside from a yachting outfit. That being said, there's a TON of fashion plates I can use for inspiration for making my own dresses for the ladies.

I don't have a lot of doll buddies to yap at anymore... one of my closest ones moved far away, I cut a really toxic one out of my life and lost touch with others... which sucks, but oh well.

LOL Yeah. I tend to watch her things apart from other stuff, because there's so much info to soak up. And totally yup.

Ooo. You have the orange fabric already? I want to make a vintage cotton union suit for the doll you painted the head for. It'll look cute under her other stuff.

Ahhh. Bummer. And yup. That's how girls used to play with those dolls, too, I bet.

Awww. So that's why you've kept me around, huh? *gently tosses dollies to you*

I went to West Edmonton mall to the Build a Bear for an outfit for Crumbs Sugar Cookie. I was going to go to the food court Greek place, but I nearly fell over in BaB, so I went home. Crumbs has a nice Valentine's day PJ outfit now, though.

I also love watching Abby Cox, Snappy Dragon, and Bernadette Banner. The first two have a lovely snarky take on history, and the second is soothing to watch, and feels like just having a nice chat with someone over some tea.

I don't have the fabric yet. But it's a House of Worth gown, and it's one of my cloud castle dream dresses. I'm also designing an 1886 bustle dress, and an 1876 natural form dress, using patterns from those years and taking inspiration from fashion plates.

I have my TTRPG friends, my cosplay friends, my SCA/Renn Faire friends, my IRL friends, my string witch friends, my witch friends, and my very small group of doll friends. some of the groups overlap, but not many.

I should see if there's a BaB still in Omaha sometime...

I watch Bernadette Banner sometimes. And chuckle when she gets herself stuck somewhere or is playing with her piggies.

Oh, that's a beautiful dress. The embroidered on overskirt makes me think of Animal Crossing.

I think you have more friends than me. lol NOT a guilt trip. I just look at differences.

Aww. They have Gudetama right now.

She's got such a calm presence. And you can tell she loves her piggies dearly.

There's so many pretty dresses I want to recreate, but that one, especially. Might take me a long while to save up enough money for all the fabric, and all the embroidery silk... but it'd absolutely be worth it.

I have a lot of friends from the convention scene, and the TTRPG scene, plus a lot of IRL friends who fall into those categories. Plus I make new friends somewhat regularly. I tend to put myself out there though, and try a lot of new communities tied to my hobbies. not all of them stick, but the ones that do, I'm usually a staple of after some time.

I think I might be able to make a Gudetama lol
