I heard that they used to eat tern in some outport Newfoundland settlements, but I've never been able to find a recipe online. XD
Watch out, NPCs like that have a history of taking over entire campaigns. Did you ever read about the little girl who was supposed to be just a holder for the sword that was the point of the story, but the players wanted to keep her and never paid attention to the sword?

I mean, I'd try it if I had access to the ingredients and a recipe. I'm always down to try new foods.
My players don't really adopt NPCs except in a couple cases, like the one who is technically the daughter of one of the PCs, but because of magic shit and deities interfering, the PC is currently in the body of a warforged (basically a combat robot). Our other PC bard is a Dad of five, happily married to his wife of over 200 years (Dwarves), and has a mess of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He's essentially adopted both the warforged PC and said PC's kid.
The party is currently en route to the city that the PC was the Grand Duke of before he died, to visit with his wife, who has been managing the city since he passed, to start preparing for taking down the PC's father, who has been making deals with demons and has always been an abusive, racist, awful example of personhood, first to his own children, then to the daughter.

...Me too. Can't help thinking that'd be best in stew, due to strong flavour. And needing to cook the germs out, in the case of herring gulls. LOL
That one guy sounds like Torb from Overwatch. LOL Only Torb only looks like a dwarf, and he and his lady are only at the grandchildren stage.
If I ever laughed at you for being cold, I am sorry. This apartment has really bad insulation, and I am learning how to wear four layers in the living room (the kitchen and bathroom actually usually aren't bad, since they're closer to the corridor, which is warm.

Stew would be the easiest way to prepare 'em, imo. less chance of burning the meat.
lol Well, Tobe *IS* a Dad Bard.
blanket nests are how I cope. plus socks year-round and good slippers.

Something makes me expect them to be pretty lean like pigeons and grouse, but I could be wrong, and they could be greasy like geese and ducks.
LOL! The name's even similar.
The plumber came by this evening and found out the thermostat was broken. But yeah. I've been loving the blanket nest today. Sat there and played that mobile Fire Kingdom game and some ACPC.

Turning 'em into stew works in either case. lol
Yeah, lol. I don't think the player intended the similarities, but oh well.
It got below freezing last night/wee smas this morning. I had to zip up the sleeping bag that I've got my flannel flat sheet and my weighted blanket in. AND I'm sleeping in a onesie plus pj pants and a t-shirt. Haven't broken out the butt warmer yet, though.

True. For the greasy you just need to leave it in the fridge and then take off the fat cake before heating it up again.
XD
Wowwww. I'm down to night shirt, flannel nightgown, and socks right now. I love this flannel nightgown, even though I can't sleep in it. Do the windows fog up where you're to? The one here's totally covered in ice. Can't see through it at all.

and then you can turn the fat cake into things like cooking oil or lamp oil! :D
I'm considering chopping up some of my older, worn-out onesies to make footies for the new onesie, for later in the winter. As for windows...Some of ours do, especially in deep winter. Our newer ones are less prone to it, but they do when it's especially cold and wet.
tfw you have a specific vision in your head for a costume piece, but none of the commercially available materials would make the right result, so you have to make it from what you have, and save up to get fabric dye and a pot specifically for dye jobs.
Granted, I don't even know what color family of ombre I want to make (Debating between blues and purples), but still!

Though it might smell kind of fishy, depending on what the gull ate. lol
Onsie of many colours? Ahhh. I opened the blinds up all the way today, and stuff was melting some. Can't leave them open, though, because they face right into other windows across the parking lot. I wiped the inner glass, though.
Costume for where?

probably would, but who knows for certain?
Mom and I put up Christmas lights outside this afternoon, because the weather's supposed to get cold this next week.
It's for my Candela Obscura game. We'll be streaming the second season sometime next year, and the overall vibes are existential horror mixed with ancient lore and a hint of Lovecraftian horror, plus humans being the real monsters. It's set in the early Edwardian era, on an alternate world to Earth. My character has lost an eye to a magic-esque parasite and the parasite is gone now, so she has visible facial scarring from it, which an eyepatch will not entirely hide. So she's taken to wearing veils. And I don't want her to wear a black veil, because she's started to move on from deep mourning (she was married and her partner died from the parasite before it attached itself to her).
