The brand, perhaps?
I always assumed that doughnut was the proper English word; in Spanish it is rosco or rosquilla.
But then appeared this Donut brand, which is the one that made popular the soft sugar-glacé doughnuts, and now everybody here call them donuts.
So you say rosquilla people know you mean a traditional one, which is more consistent.
And if you say donut people know you mean the doughnut kind.

Ahhh that could be it.
Google search gave me the info that "donut" is likely popularized in America due to the rise of Dunkin Donuts!

Today I had dumplings in chilli oil~
And a special shout out to this really really amazing tiramisu I had for lunch. It's tiramisu in a jar and they used Good Quality expresso and cream, it was so yum!
Then we had watermelon and peas for dinner LOL

Yesterday I had tea and bread with butter for breakfat.
I had steak and green peppers for lunch. Very simple meal, the kind of meal that feels like summer.
And for dinner I had a cold-cut platter with cheeses and cold meat. I needed a quick dinner because I had an appointment with the ear doctor quite late in the day and I knew I would not get home in time for cooking, also this kind of dinners are always a success at home.

oh man I love tiramisu!
I only had some random buffet style things yesterday as it was too hot to really eat much lol; we had some lime and garlic 'chicken' skewers, bbq 'ribs' and halloumi alongside salad.
