She turns 15 in 3 days.
We're in the process of getting her tested for Autism.
She also has depression and I think she's Bi-polar.
She has outbursts like that.

Hahaha yes, Gauloise indeed! :mcwink: And both words having common roots, that seems highly possible :) The more celtic area here is Bretagne, and it's also the one with the most fascinating culture and traditions

That's tough for your sister, Moi... :( Feels like this generation of kids all have troubles like that, and considering the state of the world, I really can't blame them. Very few positive things happen everyday comparing to all the negative

At least we know what it is. When I was a kid, I didn't know what depression and an anxiety disorder was 8u
So I had no idea what was happening to me.
Now it's pretty easy to tell someone has some kind of mental illness.
I really wished, prayed, and hoped she would never get it but she did =__=

@Nox:
Bretagne is the one in the NW, right? We are in the NW too.
Green mountains are a must for any Celtic culture to thrive :mclaugh:

@Moi:
Well, she may have some of those problems, she may not have them. Wait until she has a diagnosis, no need to worry beforehand.
Autism is not always a big deal, it's an spectrum after all.
What looks to you like being bipolar may also be a symptom of anxiety produced by her own depression and not understanding how the world works (autists often have a bad time). You never know. So it's important that she gets a proper diagnosis.

It's bad that a problem runs in he family, but on the other hand it's good that she can count on the support of her older sister - cause you know firsthand how that kind of problems are.

She has been diagnosed with mental illness. She takes medication for it 8u
What she hasn't been diagnosed with is the Autism.
I'd notice little things she'd do and say over the years that made me wonder if she had Autism.
Then she went to the doctor and my mom said they were going to send her to be tested.
She's going again this month u8

@Amura: it is! Though I live a bit more to the south-west, we have less of a celtic-feeling environment, sadly X'D

@Moi: being diagnosed early is a positive thing, I think, means it'll help her getting treatment and feeling better sooner too :qh:

@Moi:
I've come to understand that autism is often tricky to diagnose, specially in girls, because women tend to learn coping mechanisms that somehow "hide" it.

@Nox:
I have never been to France, can you believe it?
I crossed it a few times, traveling from Spain to Germany, but never stayed there or visited anything.
My only relatives in France were my uncle and aunt (my cousin actually was born in Paris) but they returned to Spain a little before I was born, so I never had the excuse to go visit them. Pity.

I need to see about getting myself some new antidepressants. I was taking three of them but now I just take one because the other two stopped working.
The only one I take now is the one that puts me to sleep at night.
I remember someone telling me my other two were supposed to give me energy during the day.
WHERE >8u

I was called Autistic but I don't think I am ._.
I just have been a shut-in for a long time and I don't like talking to people irl 8u
I'm not good at dealing with people but I don't think that makes me Autistic.
I'm pretty good at reading people and situations 8u
I've learned a lot about people through body language and sensing mood changes and all of that.

Can you get an appointment with your doctor?

People tend to diagnose others so lightly.
"Oh, you must be this", "You are definetely that, you match all the characteristics".
Those are stereotypical assumptions.
And I don't think that's a good thing to do. Because people who suffer some issue are not following an stereotype; it's kinda insultind that we say they are "all like this" without any proper training or knowledge.

I can. He's the one that took me off my other ones and he doubled my sleep one.
Doesn't seem to do anything but help me sleep.
I'd like him to keep that at the dose it's at and give me a different medication to go with it.

I don't tend to diagnose even myself. There's only a few ailments that I do believe I have based on what people told me and what I've read.
I asked my bestie if she thought I was Autistic.
She said "Well, you have some of the symptoms but that doesn't mean you are xD"
A big one is loud sounds. I HATE loud sounds and loud people. But I find myself wondering who LIKES those .__.
Are there people out there that are like "Ooooh I love hearing loudass noises 8D"
