I have a younger brother as well, 4 years difference and I always felt the old one. Never needed to defend him, he was always in a different school or in a different place. When I thought I'd drink the first beer with him when he finally turned 16, he wasn't interested in that either.... We kinda lived apart. Still do. :>

My sister was born when I was about 18 8u
She was a surprise xD
I wish we were closer in age, but I'm mentally younger and we share similar interests so it's okay enough.

18 years is definetely a huge difference.

I'm very close in age to my brother, but we have completely different temperaments.
As a child I used to defend him, but he soon not needed me anymore.
And we grew up, and our interests were obviously very different, and we don't really depend on each other.
While I enjoy his company we've grown in two completely different adults - even opposite in many aspects. Which is also fine.

The sibling and I have six months between us because his birth giver was pregnant with him when I was adopted, and he was three months premature.

I don't get along with him, because nowadays, he's a massive jerk who doesn't respect boundaries.

I know a few family members of mine that don't respect boundaries Bu

I'm happy. Despite us having different dads, we're very close.
I never think of her as only half a sibling.
She's my baby sister and I'll break someone's arm if they upset her xD

People want to talk about mamas digging their claws into anyone or anything that tries to hurt their babies, but big sisters can also be like that u8

I think there is a deep sense of protection within all family members.
Maybe not in all families, but most.
Everybody wants to protect everybody.

That's an animal instinct, I think. That's why some animals gather in families.
Others don't, they prefer going solo, because they don't have that instict.

Speaking of families...I got to see my dad for a bit. We had to go to a therapy session with him.
Came home to my aunt starting a fight with my mom Bu

Yeah, he is but us going to therapy helps him. He was so happy.
I think it's going to help him out a lot over time.

That's good.
Therapy is so good for some people.
Doesn't work for everybody, but when it does it makes such a difference!
