I've already dug.
I dunno, maybe I should get ready more knuffels. I usually only dig with my those below level 100 but maybe I should try digging with more.

I dig with all of mine. I constantly need pills for them during these events xD;
It's fun, though. Digging. Keeps my mind occupied and it's relaxing.

I was talking to my dad about you and our discussions about Spain and Mexico.
There's so much more I want to learn about Mexico and my heritage.
I know only a handful of stuff that I've already mentioned, I think.
I also showed him an Aztec death whistle and inquired if we'd have Aztec heritage and he said it's pretty likely.
I don't know a lot about the Aztecs but what I have seen of them, I find them interesting.
Could also have ties to the Mayans who are also from Mexico.

Meanwhile, I'm over here, trying to sort out who's related to who on my family tree, because while I know my biomom, she has no idea which of the guys she was seeing at the time is my sperm donor... and I've got two first(?) cousins who are related to each other as first cousins, and neither of them know who I could be related to...

I at least know that I'm at least half British Isles heritage. I'm pretty much white bread... lol

The things I know for sure are I'm Mexican because my dad's side is.
I'm German because my grandma came from Germany.
I know I'm Native American on both sides.
I hadn't even seen pictures of my gandpa (my dad's dad) until a couple months ago ._.
He died before I was born so I never got to meet him.

I think heritage is such an important thing.
Some people think it directly impacts on who you are - I'm not so sure - but in any case it tells your history. Where your roots stand.

And definetely Spaniards and Mexicans have a lot in common, but also some important differences.
For example the way we live our relation with death. The Día de los Muertos is such a beautiful tradition, and also a completely unique one.

Your cousins (on your mom side) are also cousins (on another side)?
That's amusing. Do you live in a very small town?
Here that kind of things are very common in islands and other distant towns.

naw, cousins on my bio-dad's side.

I do live in a small town though. where most of the kids I went to school with were either newcomers or related to each other.

I've got a 23andMe account, which is how I found out about 'em in the first place.

I submitted my raw DNA data to a couple other sites in the hopes of finding my sperm donor... and ended up confirming for certain that the woman I was 99% sure is my bio-mom is actually my bio-mom. Which means I'm the oldest of four from her.

Small towns are alright, except everyone knows everyone, and for the most part, it's the same assholes bullying you from year to year.

Oh, so you knew about her before the DNA test but were not sure.
I thought that people either did not know at all or knew for sure. With the mother, I mean, the father might be trickier.


Yeah, the upside and the downside are the same: everybody knows everybody.
I like villages though, cities are a bit too unpersonal for my taste.
