I did not know that about overdosing after quitting for a while!
It does make sense though, but I had never thought about it that way.

Our ancestors passed us many things. Some are bad, others are good.
They had those sickness you inherited from them. They had them and still thrived - that's why you exist.
So they must have had other qualities -such as a great resilience- which made the sickness bearable, and you may have inherited them too!

Yeah, my mom learned about that and told me. She said it happens to so many people and they don't know that what they're about to do is going to kill them.
It's sad but I also find it interesting that the body can reset like that.
I had assumed that once you got to that point - that's just how your body will stay forever xD

This is true 8u
I've often wondered if I was actually a strong person because everyone always called me a crybaby.
I consider myself to be an Empath which often leads to me being called too sensitive.
I feel emotions so strongly and it's made me feel like I'm weak and pathetic and even stupid.
As I've gotten older, I've learned that I'm different from a lot of people but that doesn't make me inferior to them.

In fact, I hate the idea that people say "Survival of the Fittest \8u/" as a way to tell people with illnesses and stuff that they're weak and shouldn't be able to live.
What one person is strong in, they will also be weak in another thing.
So it's clear to me that everyone deserves to live because we're all fit, but not always in the same way.
An example would be my good eyesight. I need glasses to see most things, but I can see up close really good - better than my family members.
So because I need glasses, I'd be considered weak - but I can see stuff other people can't.
Just like with me being able to sense emotions and explain why I and others feel the way they do.
Not everyone can do that.
I see people all the time asking questions to someone who clearly is uncomfortable >8u
Or at least to me, they're clearly uncomfortable.

I believe humans need to work together.
If person A is physically strong but mentally weak and Person B is physically weak but mentally strong - they should work together.
Not tell each other they're weak.

The fire looks pretty! And yeah, I know usually not all alcohol disappears, but I usually let my kids eat anything that might contain some. Same with tiramisu, I often leave out the alcohol, but I do add the coffee. They like it, I might turn them into coffee addicts early on, but well.. :mcheh: :mcheh:

I honestly don't like the 0,0% alcohol hype, it's half accepted to give that to kids, I usually don't. :>

Many people, not all, like liquorice, that's why I need to import sometime. :)

I don't think that children eating something with a little amount of alcohol makes any real difference.
Yeah, you may pour a glass of wine into a stew, and let's say half of the alcohol remains. Then the stew is shared by 6 people. Each person is roughly consuming the equivalent to 1/12 glasses of wine, which is quite irrelevant!

I was quite careful during pregnancy, and I assume that anyone who wants to stay 100% free of alcohol for whatever reason may be picky, but other than that I think common sense is enough.
Same with coffee, sugar and everything else.

When I was a kid and got a fever, it was commonly said that a glass of hot milk with a splash of brandy was great. My mom did that too.
But it was a splash of alcohol twice a year, hardly an impact on my routines.
(I generally think people used to have much more common sense than we have now...)

@Moi:
I really think you should check the orchid/dandelion children theory.
It mainly goes saying that some qualities (which by themselves are neither positive nor negative) such as sensitiveness, in rough enviroments may be an issue (for orchids do not thrive without the proper care) but in supportive enviroments lead to innovation and talent (for properly-cared orchids are a rare and beutiful flower).
People who do not have such qualities are more like dandelions: they grow anywhere, thrive no matter the climate, but on the other hand they are the same kind of thing everywhere.

That's interesting because I actually love orchids 8u
My art name is Zombie Orchid because I love zombies and orchids.
I'll have to check it out.

When is the appropriate time for someone to start drinking coffee 8u
I don't remember when I started drinking it, but I'm sure it was before I was 18...

I don't know.
It's only caffeine, I would say you can drink it from your teens, maybe?
I would not give it to an small child, because they need to sleep more. But once you start sleeping 8-9 hours a day I think it would be ok to drink some coffee.

Not to brag, but I literally just found a banana peel on the ground. I know, I'm pretty rich now.

Sure, I don't mind nicknames. Thanks for inviting me to post. It's nice to have an invitation so I don't feel like I'm intruding.

You're free to post in my hangouts too if you ever want.

Amura: That's what I was thinking. Teens drink sodas with caffeine and while it's not the exact same thing - I don't think it'd kill anyone 8u
I really love coffee so I feel like I'm biased when it comes to coffee and shoving it in peoples' faces.
However, I don't like coffee flavored stuff >8u
