I'm not into Keto or anything like that, but it's an interesting topic.

I'm of the belief that bodies are naturally anti-fragile, meaning that they are built to bear many different kind of issues (cold, lack of food, lack of food variety, stress, etc.) and that it's perfectly capable of facing them. Short term.
What our bodies are not built for is bearing any issues for a long term. An stressful situation (being prey of a hunter) is bearable, but being always stressed is the origin of so many issues!
You get into ketosis one day it's fine, you get into ketosis every day... who knows what's gonna happen to you? Unless recommended by a doctor I'm not into that.

I don't really know, carrot is sweeter than other veggies so it might even have sugar as fruit does.
It was just a random example.

I think you're right. :) Like, you can live for a day without water, but it's not really recommended. And some people are just built for difference endurances than other's. There are some Ted talks about races and what people were built for. Aaand which parts of humans never evolved entirely the right way, like the useless tailbone. Those were fun to watch. :) :)

Anywayss, I was just thinking. Carrots are sweet, never checked an index of them.

Exactly.
Take for example sun exposure. Not all races are equally good at handling sun exposure, because depending on where they evolved it was more or less important.
And even in the same race there are clear differences. My son skin is more tan than mine, so he's not as likely to get sunburn as I do.

Never checked them either.
I just know I use them in tomato sauce and other sauces for sweetness and they work very well.

Amura: People mentioned the store may have been an...illegal food stamps scam? I don't remember how they said it works, but they do exist.
I just found it funny the person disappeared.
They found out too much 8u

Jolien: My dad is Diabetic. He found out while he was in prison. I feel bad because I know my dad LOVES food and now he can't eat everything he likes.
He's doing good, though. My mom makes him send her his blood sugar results so she knows he's eating right xD
I tested mine a couple times and mine is surprisingly low ._.
I expected it to be much higher.

Food stamps scam. Sounds so old fashioned.
If he is ever found, I hope somebody tell him to figure out something a bit more original.

Is his diabetis serious?
There are levels, some diabetics really have a very strict diet whereas others have a relatively normal one.

Yeah, I didn't get the scam the way it was explained...
You sell clearly out of date food that people buy with food stamps - I don't see who benefits from that o_O

>XD
Yay hidden knuffel \8u/

Well, he said his kidneys are only functioning at like...30% - 37% and he has to have his insulin so I guess so?
He was afraid he'd have to go to dialysis, but he's not that bad.
My grandma was diabetic and so is my aunt and now my dad is.
I believe my grandma's kidneys ended up failing and that's why she died among other reasons.

That sounds pretty bad to me. Poor man.

And have you checked whether you might be at risk of developing it?
Your grandmother, your father, your aunt... Hereditary is not out of the question, I guess.

My dad has sleep apnea, narcolepsy, diabetes, high blood pressure...He doesn't sleep good and is always tired so he chugs energy drinks which aren't good for him, but he can't sleep and staying awake is hard .__.
He also started smoking again after having quit for like 5 years Bu

I mean, I'm pretty sure I'm at risk for everything 8u
My family has a history of a lot of medical issues.
I'm surprised we lived this long xD

:mcgasp:

You must be a very resilient kind of people, if you thrive despite all those issues.
