@Rubie: That's exactly why I should not read Martin's series. For some reason I forget books right after I read them, it's a phenomenon :mcheh:
I feel you on the Stormlight Archive, only I'd have to also wait for the translation, because I just can't be bothered to try and read this shit in English. Besides Ash already has the books in Polish so it makes no sense to suddenly go for the original. And the price would be horrendous, I imagine. :mcsweat:

@Sanssouci: I admire people who find time to do stuff while doing other stuff.

Oof. That sounds painful. My copy will have to wait a few months before I read it so not like I need it right away, but it's like $15 off preordering it on hardcover.

Another book that comes out in December, I could have bought the hardcover for the same price as the paperback, but I own the first two in paperback so makes no sense switching for the last book. And I think the hardcover is out of print in the NA. I found one used for the first book for $50 with unknown how bad the "good" condition is. I ain't got the money for that. especially since I dropped almost half a grand at the vet Saturday. Once I spent a pretty penny for a "new" copy that was overstock and out of print...just because it was new doesn't mean the condition was perfect.

True, I once got a book that was new, but the cover was all filthy and actually torn... Returned it.
That vet expense sounds rough :mcsad:

I should have, but I was waiting for a "new" copy of this hardcover edition since they changed the cover in the second run and didn't want mismatch cover designs.

Yes it was. Took him in for one thing and they found something else concerning so they wanted to do bloodwork to make sure it's not serious.

Ah, yeah, covers not matching is a nightmare.

And was everything fine or was it actually something?

Finished book 12 for the year, which is what I changed my goodreads challenge to. Still got two books for sure I'm reading before the years end.

His infection is doing better (he got a new interesting nickname from me from where his infection is at) and the other thing they were concerned with came back fine. So he's good except for that infection that is healing.

I think I've given up on reading for now.

I guess it's better to pay to have it checked out than be sorry later, right? Glad he's doing better.

I finished Pamela (hated it) and The Girl in the Torch (pretty good). Now I'm reading The Unicorn Hunt, Crazy Lady, and Missouri Homestead. They're all kid/teen books.

Luckily the last two books I'm reading for sure for this year are the last of two different series. And I don't have school work and with work, work stays at work because I can't do any of it at home anyway. All I got is my hobbies and dogs to distract me from reading this year.
