From The Book of Questions by Gregory Stock.

Question #64: You and a person you love deeply are placed in separate rooms with a button next to each of you. You know that you will both be killed unless one of you presses your button before 60 minutes pass; furthermore, the first to press the button will save the other person, but will immediately be killed. What do you think you would do?

A world of fragile things
Look for me in the white forest
Hiding in a hollow tree (come find me)
I know you hear me,
I can taste it in your tears."

Yeah, I think the author of this book could have used a little more input before publishing it lol.

So basically picture the person that you love most in the world. They stick you two in separate rooms, so you can't see each other or communicate. Each of your rooms has a button. They tell you that one of you has to push your button. Because if neither of you pushes the button, then they'll kill you both. Whoever pushes their button will die right then and there. But they will save the other person.

See? Your explanation makes way more sense xD
Why do people have to be so complicated >8u
Or why do I have to be so dumb? xD

I'm afraid of dying, but I would rather die than the person I love die.
If I lived, I would be depressed and have extreme guilt and would want to die.

Either way, there's selfishness in both xD;

I'm terrified to die, but I would push the button right away if it was my husband. Without him, I'd be penniless and homeless, and I don't know what would happen to our animals. So I would want him to live.

I would push it. Maybe wait 58 minutes first to get my last bits of living in haha. And I would have my fingers crossed it was all a test and nothing would happen when I pushed the button, but I would still have to push it.
although now that I think about it, after 58 minutes I might become indignant and wonder why he hasn't pushed it yet XD

Well maybe he's squeezing out his last bits of living too before pushing it. :mcsquee:

My first instinct is to slam my hand down on the button before they even finish speaking. "Your fella will die unless you push this bu--" *SLAM* "I was going to say push this button in five minutes, you just killed him!!"

:mcsweat:

I know however he would want me to NOT push the button so that he can fight them in the other room while I fight them in mine. And if we don't beat them in 60 minutes then we die together, because you don't negotiate with terrorists.

So I gotta honor his wishes and go out fighting, even if it kills us both.
