Question #35: Would you give up half of what you now own for a pill that would permanently change you so that one hour of sleep each day would fully refresh you?

If I can give up the half I want to, thats a big yes. I would just make a list of all my belongings and buy back the half that doesnt have nostalgic value. I would earn the money to buy those things back with my power of wakefullness.

If I didnt have the ability to choose for some reason, Id think about it more carefully.. Id still probably do it.. Its a once in a lifetime offer.. of course I would need proof.. and I dont quite know how they would prove that to me. Lol.

I think I might do it if I get to pick the stuff that I gave up. I have a lot of junk that I'd like to get rid of anyway!

That is super tempting, because I need a ridiculous amount of sleep.

But half of what I own would mean giving up my house, since that's more than half the value of everything I own, and I worked so hard to get it and keep it...

and even if it was just a matter of, suddenly I only own half of the house and have some kind of strange mortgage....
when it comes to the stuff IN the house...
I've been the family repository for random heirlooms for a long time (about 3 decades now), so, well, a lot of my items have family-history to them, and losing half would upset a number of people in my family who like to come visit and do research in the family papers, make copies of old photos, take the patterns off hand-made puzzle boxes from nearly two hundred years ago, stuff like that. I know it's technically mine, but emotionally I feel more like a caretaker than an owner, so..... I'm not sure if I could really be happy if I felt a constant sense of guilt for giving up half of it. Now, if I could give up half to other family members?
Yes, in a heartbeat.
But as a sale to some random genie offering this wish, kind of thing? Ummmmmmmm.

If I could pick which items to give up, hell yeah I would do that.

I have chronic fatigue so that would be an amazing thing for me. Only having to sleep an hour a night would be awesome.

hell yeah. considering i don't even own much to start with. there's very little in the way of monetary goods that are so valuable to me that i wouldn't be able to give them up. on the other hand, time is priceless to me.
