Maybe I should say that writing English has devolved...xD;; I mean, sure we're getting new words every day but I find I would rather prefer traditional English instead of all the shorthand we get these days. I don't mind change but when proper writing of 'laugh out loud' becomes 'lol', I just think it's so.......I don't know....//shrug

i'm pretty sure this is just a thing that naturally happens. like, shakespeare back in the day was considered "low language" and uncultured, so honestly it's just a matter of perspective. many of the words we take for granted now were slang/abbreviations in the past, so i guess my point is that i don't really know if "traditional" english exists as much as just "formal" and "informal"

Languages are a fluid thing so even if we try not to change and evolve, it will regardless. That's just how anything living works. Just like how most people can't even read Middle English nowadays. *shrug*

Shakespeare really did make up words...

Hart; :mclol: I had to laugh at that one!

Lycan; Actually, I love Shakespearean English. XD;; I'm weird that way. I used to write entire Shakespearean sonnets and I took an entire class about Shakespeare. I still have my "green brick" which includes all of Shakespeare's plays and sonnets.

It's not over yet.
There's a lot to look forward to.
Keep going.
You can do this :)
