Yup, book #3. I'm enjoying the series a lot so far. The ending is what really makes it or breaks it for me though, so we'll see!

@Sanssouci: good luck with the third book!

@LittleJulez: how did you like "The Perks of Being a Wallflower"?

I haven't made progress on current reads but I'll be reading Le Guin's "Earthsea" Cycle with 3 other women in April and that's very exciting

That sounds very exciting, indeed! April is about to start, so yay, something to look forward to! :)
Are you going to read it in German or in a different language?

I liked "The Perks of being a wallflower". I was surprised how different the narrative style was from the one in the movies, but I like both. The story was great. To be honest I cried so much during the movie, but I did not feel like doing so during the book. Both are good though!

that's the best, when movies and books are different enough but are still both enjoyable

yup, we're starting somewhere mid april. I'll be reading in english, the others in russian. it should be fun because we have different tastes and perspectives. or it might be a disaster, that too

I agree!

Ouh that will be interesting to compare the versions! Ah well, I am sure it will be more fun than disastrous!

I remember reading the comics about Scott Pilgrim after watching the movie and not enjoying it at all, partly because the comics just had more elements that didn't seem necessary after seeing the same story compressed

the girls have an idea of comparing the original and the translation but I'm not sure how they're going to do it because I'm the only one who's reading in english and I have no desire to read russian to compare. I'm also not sure they know how comparing works :mclaugh: I definitely don't. I can find mistakes in translation but not, you know, compare. all I'm ready to compare is how we see the text :mclaugh:

Ooooh I know that movie! Good to know that it might not be worth reading! :D

Yea it also might be more fun this way to compare your perception of the texts :D Are they also linguists?

give it a try, you may find enjoyable something that I didn't

no. one of them is a translator, though, but she wasn't going to read the english text
