Your outfit looks GREAT and
OMG I LOVE YOUR HAAAAAAIIIIIRRRR!!!! ♥w♥
I've always wanted long hair like that but sadly my hair shrinks
There are a lot of things I love about my natural hair
but having to stretch it out all the time can be a real pain
one of the more fun things is explaining people what "nappy" means xD

It's really hard to explain but it's like curly tangled hair times 10 xD
it's how we describe out hair when it gets
to really hard to manage

Ohhh, that sounds like a troublesome state!
I already notice a significant difference in tanglyness in my own hair depending on how wavy or straight it happens to be at a time (it varies a lot with how I wash it, how long the wash is ago, etc), it must be a looot more intense with the kind of curl natural hair has.
What do you do about it when it comes to that? How do you manage it?

Well there's different things that I do at that point
I can use de-tangling spray
(my mum makes her own I can't remember what she puts in it)
Or conditioner to soften it so that it's easier to manage
but sometimes nappy is good for textured styles
like for french braiding it makes the hair easier to grip
and it holds it's shape and stays in place.
so my hair is super nappy right now and I'm gonna just leave it xD
I'll wash it again and comb it out when I'm ready
to put it into some sort of style
also to prevent it from getting nappy in the first place
I have to braid it like immediately after washing it
if I don't do SOMETHING to it
it will automatically start to shrink
and tangle and become nappy again
when I can run a comb through without
it getting caught that's when I know it isn't nappy any more
[MissNikki]
Yup I use protective styles with hair extensions
Back in the day my ex gf used to do twistouts on my hair
she'd braid the weave to the end of my real hair
and then twist it the rest of the way
the length changed based on how long my hair grew
Spoiler: Twist Out
ImageImage

Micros are individual braids that are super tiny
makes hair more manageable for a style
but probably not the best for my hair
it also takes a super long time and cost a lot
to get done professionally
the blue and black ones I did myself
the just black ones were professionally done
Spoiler: Micros
ImageImage

Individuals are kind of the same as micros
but slightly bigger which is slightly better for my hair
Left it kinda loose after my real hair was done being braided in
and it looked really nice to me
Spoiler: Individuals

Sew ins are one of my favorite kind of protective hair styles
It looks like a wig but its "sewn" into my real hair
(there are french braids underneath)
None of my real hair is exposed and it's super easy to take out
The only downfall is no high pony tails or pigtails
Spoiler: Sew In

Last but not least the EASIEST FASTEST and my basic Go to protective style
Crochet!
idk if you ever heard of these but it's really fun
I french braid my hair in whatever pattern
(I usually do it going straight to the back)
and then I buy this hair that's already braided or twisted
and use a crochet hook with a latch
(so I don't accidentally catch my real hair in the hook)
and fold the weave in half and pull it through
under the french braid, put the loose end into
the folded in half loop on the other end and pull tight
some people install them a different way but I like this way best
works great so I don't have to dye or damage my real hair
Spoiler: Crochet Braids

Wow, so many different ways to apply extensions!
I've heard before that there are some ways that are really hard on your own hair and scalp, but you called most of these protective, so I'm guessing those are the more pleasant possibilities already?

I really like the twistout and the crochet style - I think I just like the tiny rope braids look. :)

I'm kind of curious now what your mom puts in the de-tangling spray. I like diy hair treatments and stuff :D
I did a hair mask out of honey, aloe vera gel and yoghurt this week before washing :)

I'll be sure to ask my mom
what her secret is for you xD
Hair masks are good but I've been told that
too much protein can actually damage your hair too
and cause it to break off
I guess it's a delicate balance

The crochet and twist out our my favorite too

The most damaging style from the ones I mentioned
is the micros because they grip at such a small amount of hair
after a while of wearing it a braid or two can start to fall out
it's in a vulnerable state
The style looks nice but it can be damaging after time
the MOST damaging style is a "glue in"
People actually put a product called Jam on top
of their real hair and then put Eyelash glue on their hair
to install the extensions. I think it's stupid but people still do it
The sew in gives you the same effect but people
claim you can achieve a better look because the glue
can go where the sew in can not
it's just not worth losing my real hair xD
