Japanda it sucks that rats are so prone to tumors and how fast those tumors can grow... I went through so many rat tumor surgeries, luckily if the vet knows what they are doing it is a quick and easy surgery and they can recover within a couple weeks. :mccute:

Nan: that's a neat idea to draw your avi with when you change it.
maybe I should try with my avi. it would be an interesting color-test with the zombie skin tone. (usually with pale skin I have trouble making it lighter or darker, like I tried giving a character a tan to make it look like they had been in the sun and they just looked pale like other characters :mcheh: :mcsweat: )

Nikki: I know right? :mcsad:
I went through a few with my eldest rats, Lily and Pippin, but we had a huge issue with them pulling out their own stitches. like they tried a cone on each of them, but Lily chewed through her's and I was told Pip turned blue. and with Lily they ended up having to put her in a wrap (like a little burrito, it was so cute in a sad sort of way). and with Pip's, she got out of the wrap right after they put her in it, they ended up crafting a thing, it was like a toilet-paper type tube, and they put that around her neck and wrapped bandages around her shoulders to keep it in place.
but I'm worried about with Meadow, if my parents are able to help me afford it, because with these things I've always had where stitches were pulled out and the vet who did the last operations and crafted that thing for Pip is no longer working at that clinic. the vet I went to last time at the clinic... I didn't like her much... she kept pushing for something I tried with one rat (Pippin) to 'prevent' tumor growth that did not work, and after I told her that she kept mentioning it, like sort of a "if you did this it would lower the chance of them getting tumors" :mcgloom:

How old is Meadow? I can't remember if you mentioned it. If it is a very small one I would just leave it for now and keep an eye on it. Keep trying the natural methods you were trying for preventing further growth and maybe look into other possible vets for any future surgery.

I had to wrap a couple of my girls in burritos when they had surgery too, LoL they looked funny but I felt so bad for them ... I remember one night one girl got out of her burrito and chewed through her stitches and opened up small portion of the surgical area. I had to stay up with her all night and fell asleep sitting up at one point with her on my lap. At one point I kinda twitched and woke myself up and scared both of us pretty good LoL. I got her to the vet first thing that morning when it opened and they fixed her up. We had to be pretty crafty with that one. She was an escape artist with cones and burritos. I did a lot for those guys and gals. LoL :qh: :qh:

Meadow will be two in November. and it feels pretty small. also with vet places I've been liking the clinic I've been going to, because a close friend of mine works there, also compared to a different clinic I went to when I had a dog they seem cheaper/more reasonable and better at caring for animals. not sure if many places around where I'm at see exotics :mcconf: even the emergency vet places I think one sees rats, but only for part of the day, and the 24 hour emergency place -only- sees cats and dogs. (which seems super odd to me)

I wish there was a good way to keep them from biting at that stuff though, but their bodies are just so flexible :mcgasp: I mean, the thing with Pippin did seem to strongly work though, I'm just hoping if I have Meadow's tumors removed that the other vet can do that (or that my friend can tell her how to set it up). I could upload a picture of Pippin in that if you want, she wasn't happy in it though since it sort of restricted her arms from reaching her face to clean. it did make it so she couldn't reach those stitches though.

I know, it's hard to watch them being restricted by the cone but it's for their own good ...I wish they understood words so we could just tell them that! LoL.

Sounds like you are taking great care of her :mccute: :qh:

My weekend was okay, a bit too social for my taste. I guess I have to do that stuff once in awhile .. hung out with my partner's sister and her boyfriend one night and then had lunch with his dad and step mom the next day. Luckily managed to get a nap in there so that made me happy :mcheh: :mcheh:
