hiiiiiii god it's been too long :mcdead:
life was hard for a while because no internet! so i had to move hostels to get one with internet. and this happened in the midst of hosting a Collector's Corner contest. i had to defer judging for like, months, without even being able to tell anyone why i was barely even logging on for so long :mccry: anyway all that is over and i must say i'm happy to be back! :qh:

in other news i've dropped out of honours. i might've been able to do it if the work i was getting from my other courses was, like, halved. but as it was i couldn't devote the time it required. and i'm happier for the decision. :mchappy:

what about you? what've you been upto? :mcglee:

I missed you!!!!!!!

It's pretty good. Still working full time (and trying to stay out of the increasing work drama)

My sister and I have season tickets to a local theater (that has traveling Broadway shows come through). Next weekend we're going to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!

I've also discovered that my hair is supposed to be curly (at least wavy). It's weird XD

ughhh work politics. it used to affect even the students, the stupid drama going among the teachers. i used to sit there like 'why are these adults so immature?' lol

that's wonderful! i've seen a play once in my life; it was by Theater Studies students at another college. i really want to go to the theater more! tell me how it went!

like you didn't know before? or it started naturally curling after being straight most of your life? :mcshock: how do you prefer it, straight or curly?

It was good! The first half was cute. The second was really creepy and morbid. They didn't show the other 4 kids leaving the factory at the end (like in the movie) so the only one you know survived was Mike Teevee.

As for my hair it was always this big frizzy poofy mess that sometimes had a wave. I saw a video on YouTube and the person had the same hair as me. So I started doing things differently and now my hair is really wavy. I love it this way

that's disquieting :mcshock: i've watched the movie and read the book and... wow that's switching up the spirit of it a bit, but if they pulled it off i've nothing to protest :mcheh:

my hair is really bushy too! gimme all the tips :mcsquee: i neeeed to do something differently. i can't use the normal straightening stuff like straighteners or serums because they damage hair after continuous use.

They kept the tone of it, so it was good. They just didn't show them all walking out.

Look up the Curly Girl Method. It can get complicated, but the basics are simple. Stop using silicones and sulfates. Stop brushing. Use gel.

i looked up the curly girl method and it looks great! my hair certainly needs it! it's not unhealthy per se because i don't blow dry it and i oil it once a week BUT it doesn't curl the way it naturally should and i do use hot water to wash it so >.>

the thing is the curly girl method seems very western? as in the hair care practices where i live are very different. i've almost never come across someone using gel for instance, and if i started using gel i'd be doing something nobody around me can advise me on because nobody around me uses it :mcheh: and then figuring out how i'd now use hair oil is tricky; like i know it's okay to use in the curly girl method but how often, and how in tandem with the other unfamiliar products i'll start using... that'll be tricky to figure out. but i DO know that people who use the method are diverse, like one FB group i came across is women's only so that when the members share their pics, women who usually cover their hair and aren't supposed to make it visible to men have their cultural practice respected and stuff. so i think i just need to look around online a little more thoroughly for Indian curly girls :mclaugh:

and i'm worried about how my hair will be in the transition period but i know it'll be worth it. i'm planning to start during my gap year after i graduate so that's... six more months of classes, longer if we include the holidays. i can research bit by bit in that time.

You don't need gel, really. Some days I just use a curl cream. Or mousse. I'm in a couple Facebook groups and they're definitely helpful.

I've seen people using oils differently. They mix some with conditioner for a deep conditioning treatment. Or after they've used conditioner before they style.

The method definitely works though!
