OCM is oil cleansing method. I just learned that term last week tbh. Basically what I am doing is using baby oil and massaging the areas where I have the most plugs. It's a bit of a mess but I've been getting some out. It's very satisfying, haha. When I'm done I have to do a second cleansing to remove the excess oil. I know a lot of skincare routines involve second cleansing but I find it so tedious tbh. However, the results are there, so.

Huh... I don't know much about Korean makeup, but I do have a cousin who works in a store for one, and my brother always has face lotions and masks for it.

Is there a reason Korean makeup is popular in particular? Is it a Korean fad?

Hmm, I like korean makeup and especially korean skincare because they offer new innovative products. Not only that, their products are significantly cheaper compared to western products. Example, I can purchase great cosrx essences and cleansers for as little as $10 - $20. In my local pharmacy I can't get anything that gets the job done as well for that price.

I'm not particular fond of some of the korean trends like pale face makeup, gradient lips, highlighter on the lower lid. It looks cute on other girls but not me. I think a good example of how innovative korean was is the cushion compact. Korean has cushion compacts like 5 years ago? And suddenly in the past year, western compacts have popped up everywhere. It's a lot more popular and accessible now than it was.

Koreans also have a huge focus on appearance in their culture. To the point where I hear you often have to send in a photo of yourself for job applications, and you are heavily pressured to get cosmetic surgery. So I kind of assume their beauty products would be legit based on that.

From what I've heard, job applications pretty much always ask you to provide a photo however, they're heavily photoshopped. Haha. So I don't think you even have to have cosmetic surgery. Even their passports are heavily photoshopped. There is pressure to look a certain way but it's mainly light, fair skin will emphasis on that glassy, dewy look. It's more like they have regular dermatologist appointments and facials too.

The most common surgery though is the double eyelid surgery. I have an Australian Korean friend who had the bone reconstruction surgery. She was born with a curved chin so her profile was crescent shape, so she shaved some of that chin off.
