Hey all,
That happened to me with a treatment for permanent laser hair removal. I spent about $1000 on 5 treatments, which they said would be enough. But it didn't work ):
I did it because my sister who lives in San Deigo CA got it done, 5 treatments and she says it worked. (on bikini area) She gets only a few hairs down there every once and a while after the treatment!
I wondered if it is because i live in a small town, in Oregon, where there is no competition, for their buisness in laser hair removal, so they don't do as good of a job to get people to come back for more treatments? I am not sure, but i am annoyed that I got no results, for the same price, and my sister's treatment worked, and mine didn't.
I think it just depends on the place you go to, and how competitive the company is with others in the area.
I would not go to one in a small town. It's a waste!
But i would be willing to try again at the place my sister went 2. lol
I really think that it also depends on your hair growth a lot, becaus eit is so different for different people. My sister for example doe snot shave her legs at all! I am so jelous! She has thin light hair on her legs, so in summer, when she gets a tan, you don't really see them. While I have pale skin and dark thick hair. I could not walk around with unshaved legs, it looks disgusting. And then I had a friend who told me, when she epilates her legs, it last for 2-3 months before she has to do it again. And here I am jelous again, because, as said, for me it lasts like a week! And I once overheard two woman talking - One asked the other how often she has to pluck her eyebrows and she was like "oh, once every 2 or 3 weeks" and the other was shocked and said "so often?!". And I was like "Are you kidding me? I have to pluck mine EVERY SINGLE DAY".
Hair just grows so differently for different people so I can well imagine that the same treatment shows different reults for different people.
@Poshi: It's not dangerous at all. As said, it's not a very strong laser and it won't work unless the whole area where the laser coms out is touching skin, so you cannot accidentaly burn out your eye or anything like this. It's easy to use for the one exception that you don't see where you have already used it and it only covers a very small area at a time. So it's really easy to miss out lots of spots.
I just looked up prices for hair removal treatments here. I found one in our area where they want 49€ for the smallest area (armpits) and say it should take about 10 treatments, so that would be 490€ just for a small area. So definately not cheaper than the home hair removal thingy, at least here.
They want 274€ for the whole legs for just one session, so a 2740€ for 10 sessions (with no guarantee that it will even work). I thought I remembered it correctly that it was expensive in Germany. Thought it might have gotten cheaper by now as you all mention rather cheap prics, but apparently it is not. There is no way I could afford anything like this. Looks like I shall stay a hairy woman forever.
Look, my doggies!
