So, apparently there's cliques in schools.
You know, like the nerds, jocks, geeks, etc.
My school didn't have such a thing.

I would not put myself in a clique, but if I had to be placed in one, I do wonder what it would be.
I'm an artist, I'm a huge anime and manga fanatic and I'm into dark and creepy things.
I HAVE been called a goth a few times in my life, though.

What would you place yourself in?
And no, "I'm my own thing" won't cut it.

"I'll miss the winter
A world of fragile things
Look for me in the white forest
Hiding in a hollow tree (come find me)
I know you hear me,
I can taste it in your tears."

My school had the friend circles, of course, but people shuffled as they pleased

I was one of the outcasts/loners, so in a way...

My school had a group called "The Young Independents Club." A Young Republicans org. had sprung up, none of us were satisfied with the label of Young Democrat, so we decided to do our own thing.

Things we did:
--Run a gag candidate for student government every semester
--Try to buy a vote in the state senate via a fundraising bake sale
--Visit the state capital to attempt to give the proceeds of the bake sale to our local shady state representative in the form of one of those giant checks
--Find out that no one will come out of their office and accept our giant check
--Go to a secret anarchist bookstore under a bakery instead and donate the money to them instead

What's important here isn't the political aspect as much as the "what the heck are a bunch of 16 year olds doing running around doing this stuff and who is letting them do it" aspect. It was an odd group.

We decided to game the whole "leadership positions" thing on college applications by writing into our founding document that every member of the group is considered a "founding member and executive board appointee" regardless of when they joined or what they did.

So we were basically a group of 7 or 8 annoying kids who were both smart and very, very bored.

Sadly I don't really belong in any true clique, as the typical stereotypes go. I've always been a social butterfly, which is actually more bad than better tbh.

I don't really know what group I was in, if any. Someone said I was in "the hippie group" in 10th grade. But I hung out with a lot of seniors in 10th grade, and then they graduated, and then I felt like I was drifting by myself most of the time after that all the way up until I graduated.

I was always the silent type in school. Was polite to anyone who was nice to me, otherwise never approached anyone on my own. But I wasn't exactly a loner because I had two best friends that I pretty much stuck to.

So I interacted with a bunch of people but kept my best friends close.

What does that make me? *think face*

It's not over yet.
There's a lot to look forward to.
Keep going.
You can do this :)

In high school, cliques were a trend or ever present from where I spent my HS years.

freshmen year was one of the best part of my HS life. everything is new to you, well, mostly. It's easier to befriend anyone, exclusive cliques of friends weren't established at that time so you can pretty much get along with anyone.

then in later years, people would just basically form a clique of 5-9. they'd go together in parties, sch events and stuff.

I have been also a part of a group of friends and we named our group as FG. we don't have specific circle of friends who are friends because of their same passions.

my hs life in cycle is

lots of new friends > few close friends > aloof/loner > loner for a few months then has found a group of friends

In my high school there were numerous cliques, but I wouldn't say they revolved about anything specific. They were simply the group of friends that stick together all the time.
Sadly, I wasn't able to join any clique. I'm too much of an outsider, I also have a big problem befriending someone, so I end up being a loner. In the end I was sticking most of the time with other outsiders, never even being able to befriend them either.

There were also cliques in my college, the same way they were in high school. I entered some of them, but they were usually very fragile and they ended up breaking after some time. Either due to the members dropping out of the college or some conflicts between people. I guess because all these groups didn't revolve about anything specific, their members were very, very different from each other, they also liked completely different things. And that was the cause these groups were so fragile.

I want to practise my English. If you see any mistakes, please send me a pm.

Why do some people use such a small font size? It hurts my eyes... :mcdead:
