I watch a lot of things, some are medical shows.
I've seen two episodes at least with children who had gotten injured.
They were in pain and when the doctors asked the parents if they could administer mild painkillers, the parents refused.
So the kids were in pain during the whole thing.

I somewhat understand why, but I don't think I could watch my kid suffer through the pain.
I think if it's a safe dosage, then the doctors can give it to them.

And it's not like scrapes and bruises, one kid had a fractured foot and the other had hundreds of cacti needles in her.

I'm not a parent, so I don't know if I have the qualification to give my input.
I know a lot of users have kids, so I wanted to ask.
And if you don't have kids, you can give your input too <3

I think you should listen to your doctor, or if you don't trust them, see another doctor. And if you don't trust them, see another doctor. And so on.

YESS!! something i wholeheartedly agree with! Honestly the one person you really should trust is your doctor. if not why are you trusting them with your health aka your life?

Doctors go through so much schooling, I think it's best to listen.
They're not always right, but I think you should listen or get a second opinion.
But if it's the ER, there's little time, and I think the doctor knows best.

I will get info from my doctor and I will do my own research.
I enjoy learning on my own and I do like to see if they're right.
I mean, I brought up my pain when I drink alcohol, and my doctor was surprised by it.
He said he'd have to do some research on it and get back to me.

Anyways, the little girl had cactus thorns in her.
Not just little needles.
I've had cactus needles in me and my mom removed them.
I remember screaming and crying.
So I know damn well the little girl was in pain.
And the doctor mentioned "Maybe the family had a bad experience with painkillers and anesthesia..."
But I still think it was shitty that they said no.

I agree 100%. Almthough it's important that the parents decide, we also have to trust professionals.

honestly? I think in an emergency situation, like the one described earlier? Denying someone in major pain painkillers is cruelty and a really shitty thing to do.

Oh my doctors/hospital is very very careful about making sure my little monster daughter gets safe amount of painkillers if she needs it. I trust UNMC because hey they were the first to deal with the Ebola epidemic, and helped them. I think they can safely administer painkillers to my daughter without giving her an overdose. I'd kill them otherwise. <<;

I just realized that "take out" means food, dating, and murder. And if you were a female praying mantis you'd have all three.

I have a 7 year old daughter, and i would definitely allow her be on a painkiller under doctors orders, depending on severity of what it was. Surgery, broken bones, stuff like that, for sure.
BUT the big thing is age as well. My daughter hates medicine and wouldn't take anything but liquid tylenol or ibuprofen. lol
In the future, if she needed something stronger, if something serious happened like a broken bone or surgery etc, i would let her take what the doctor suggested

If my kid was in severe pain then I'd want them to get a pain killer. Especially for something like broken bones. It'd be cruel not to give them one.
