right, I was wondering what to do with all the money I have :P
honestly though, I'm only disappointed there are no books in yiddish. and it's not even because of the store, it's because my favourite store in jerusalem has drastically reduced their collection and I'm looking for another source of books in any second-hand store I come across

Oh! What's your favorite source in Jerusalem? I'm going to be there in a few weeks, would love to stop in... bookstores are always great places.

look for danny books or דני ספרים
it's 57 jaffa st. they used to be right at the corner with even israel but now they're renovating so you have to go somewhat deeper along even israel st. and just a few years ago they had an immense collection in yiddish. it was like half of the first floor! last year I forgot where they were and didn't get there, and this year they told me they had to cut it because no one is interested in yiddish :(
and I didn't ask if they still had those books listed online. and I also didn't ask where they'd sent all of them.

I'll ask.... be a shame not to preserve what we can of the language. It's so expressive!

you really will? thank you!
oh I'm sure they found a good and interested place for them. it's just that they were right there, by the side of English books, and you could treat them equally. not like museum exhibits. best case scenario they end up in a library. but that also makes them a bit more exhibit-ish. in a store next to fantasy books from 2009 they're seen as a part of a living language.

On the other hand, in a library it's easier to get them put online available free as the copyrights allow...

And yes. I really will.

I've just finished reading Girl On The Train before I watch the film, I hope it's as good as the book.

The Girl on the Train threw me for a loop though I'm sure it won't hit you as hard since you're reading the book first. And I've gotta say... I've always sort of felt unconvinced by domestic violence from woman -- "I know that it exists but how bad could it be? Women aren't as muscular as men." -- until I watched that movie. I never knew physical abuse from women could be so frightening.

"I'm pasty white, my eyes are huge, and I have blonde hair. 'course I look Japanese!"
NEVILLE
would have done it in four books
There's a milkman waiting in the sky.
He likes to deliver dairy so long as it's homogenized.
There's a milkman waiting in the sky.
He drives a rundown milk truck
And his milk's been pasteurized.

He told me;

Let the bovines moo it!
Let the bovines chew it!
Let the bovines boogie
Down, down dah dah dah
Dah dah dah dah
Dah dah dah dah...
