I can confirm that when you collect the fragments it does indeed say "Key fragement collected!"

This is a clever way to do it; it rewards long-term consistent investment, even if it would be hard for someone coming in on the last few days to catch up.
I'm slowly sorting out how much effort of looking for fragments each hour is worth it to me... want to get ahead a little in case some days I can't make it and have to rely on a stockpile.

I accidentally missed a key fragment. It was right there on the page, but I didn't see it until I had just navigated away, so I didn't get to collect it. Will it show up again, or is it gone for the hour?
