It looks like some attention is finally being paid to voter intimidation. Finally! This election cycle has seen some really blatant talk of voter intimidation, and I don't care what the circumstances are it is never okay to threaten or intimidate or, yes, even attack other citizens for voting.

I agree. Nothing like that should ever happen. Glad it's finally being talked about. Lets hopefully something good comes from this. We don't need this election for sure to be reexamined after all the votes come in and the president is announced. >.>

I read a Boston Globe article recently. I'm linking the Vox summary, because Boston Globe only lets me read 5 articles a month so I try not to go to their site unless I have to. Anyway, in the article they talk to a Trump supporter who claims he's going to watch other people at the polls on election day. Here's a quote.

“I’ll look for ... well, it’s called racial profiling. Mexicans. Syrians. People who can’t speak American,” he said. “I’m going to go right up behind them. I’ll do everything legally. I want to see if they are accountable. I’m not going to do anything illegal. I’m going to make them a little bit nervous.”

THAT'S ILLEGAL YOU RACIST XENOPHOBE! ALSO NO ONE SPEAKS 'AMERICAN' BECAUSE 'AMERICAN' ISN'T A GODDAMN LANGUAGE. IF YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW THAT THE LANGUAGE YOU SPEAK IS CALLED 'ENGLISH' HOW THE HELL WOULD YOU KNOW IF PEOPLE WERE SPEAKING ANOTHER LANGUAGE SINCE CLEARLY YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND YOUR OWN GOD. DAMN. LANGUAGE.

Argh!

I dunno why...but ethnocentricity is getting to me more than anything else lately. The world is so big and complicated, it is so dumb to assume that everyone should look and act like you. I mean, obviously there are also really harmful consequences to thinking that way, but mostly it is dumb

I'm watching a Clinton speech live right now, and I think Michelle Obama is talking next. Hopefully! Michelle Obama is my fave. Of like, all peoples. She's just the most graceful, erudite, compassionate, powerful woman ever. Just ever.

Part of me wants her to run for president, but a much larger part is saying, "Look, I'll vote for Clinton cuz it's necessary, but we really need to knock it off with the political dynasties." Roosevelts, Kennedys, Bushes, Clintons, we probably don't need to add to that list.

Wanted to share this line from the speech I'm watching:

Clinton: And let's be real. As our first African American first lady, she faced pressures I never did.

THANK YOU! This is important for Clinton to acknowledge. Regardless of the election, it means a lot for a former first lady to acknowledge how difficult this has been for Michelle. :qh:
