Honestly...my secret radical grrl feminist fantasy is that Hillary wins the election and the next day announces that she's dropping 'Clinton' and returning to being Hillary Rodham, so that the first woman president in American history is sworn in under her own name, on her own power.

But the rational part of me knows that probably wouldn't happen. I think she could pull it off, but it probably would end up becoming this huge scandal right before her inauguration, and I know she's an ultra-cautious politician.

Sigh...a girl can dream, though. A girl can dream.

That would be so cool if she could do that, but you are right, she most likely wouldn't. She is from the time where leaving your husband is a major no no and you can't fault her too much for that. Being born in one time tends to carry on in the later years of your life sadly.

And her having to watch her smiles and everything else is still sad that women today still have to follow those old guidelines of the proper woman. Places still expect women to be in heels and makeup just to work. Follow one girl on twitter and she has a interview in the Phillipenes for working at a hospital as a doctor and was told she has to put on makeup, heels and a dress. It's required. Sad how places all over the world expect this out of women. Some hate that stuff or just don't care for it. I hate makeup (don't even know how to put it on or understand the reason for it) and heels.... I'm better off slamming my face into a brick wall first before I put them on. I can't even walk in short heels without twisting my own foot for taking a small slow step. >.>

Women have it too hard and it seems that not many notice it (care, same thing now a days).

I'm reminded of that line:

Ginger Roberts did everything Fred Astaire did, but backwards and in heels.

That's what it means to be part of a marginalized group in this country (nevermind that women are more than half the population). You always have to be twice as good to get half as far.

I remember hearing that line about Ginger Roberts. Never really thought much of it growing up. Or even if you are better than you counterpart, you still won't get that much anywhere. Seems women who get a certain age and then the jobs slow down still happens. Especially if they aren't huge hitters in Hollywood, but they still have a bit of a slow down too. Sad this country is this way.

Considering women are more powerful I guess you could say than men can be. Sexist to say but being a woman and treated like I'm dirt for most of my life did that to me. I have been teaching my fiance about all of this and he's still in shock over things I tell him. Today I told him about Hillary and being careful on smiling and he was shocked and confused about it; still might be a bit.

The more he learns he just doesn't seem to understand. (He spent his entire life playing games and hasn't really paid attention to the world itself.) >.> Too bad fixing things will be hard. Read an article on Nancy O'Dell speaking out about the leak of the tape and her and the other woman mentioned in the audio never got appologies from that moron. He really should of if he wants to look "partially decent". The woman who wrote the article said she got some "loving" mentions on twitter. About being raped by Slick Willy, to go hang herself, being clubbed and I forgot another thing.... Jesus christ these people are sad excuses to humans.

It's rape culture, pure and simple. This attitude, that men can do and say anything they want to women without consequences, is precisely why 1 in 3 American women will be sexually assaulted or harassed in her lifetime. I worry that men don't realize that when they think they're joking they're actually giving their friend (or even themselves) permission to hurt a woman.

This is a YouTube video of a poem called #DearDaddy. It's from the point of a girl growing up and writing a letter to her father explaining how all the itty bitty things piled up in her life and amounted to rape. It's really powerful, and I think it's a good thing to show guys who are struggling to understand this issue, because it's really emotional. But it might be a little too emotional in certain circumstances...

I don't know if men don't realize it or even care to be honest. It's hard to tell now a days. Like about a year or so; there was this huge thing about women in gaming. Like behind the scenes and some women were so terribly harrassed by men that one ran out of her house in the middle of the night from the tweets, one including her address. And these gamer men want women gamers. Like we are this rare mythical creature that is hot to them, but when women are there and behind the scenes. Holy shit it's the end of the world. It's like a decent amount of men now a days say one thing but immediately act like Trump, never said it. Or they are truly two faced.

Before you could tell men who were caring about women; except the ones who are psychopaths who are too good at faking crap. But now it's really hard to tell the sincere and the ones who are danger. I lucked out big time meeting my fiance. He's completely different. He keeps reminding me on a daily basis that I can do whatever I want and I'm safe. That he will never force me into something no matter what. Not something I am used to. Meet too many guys and know them sadly still that will play horrible mind games on you to get what they want. Even if it's not sex related, they still love those games.

I just wished the world was a bit safer but we won't have that. Not with the men in power and guys getting away with rape in the public eye because they got money or morons like Trump wandering the streets.

Okay.

(Takes a deep breath)

Wow. Just...wow. That was ugly.

So the debate started with Trump calling a "presser" right before, telling the press that they'd get to see debate prep, but when the reporters came into the room there was a group of women who have accused Bill Clinton of sexual assault/harassment who one by one said they were voting for Trump.

That's...a dirty trick. Using that phrase feels antiquated, but that is absolutely what it was. It was...disgusting. I can't even. And the whole thing was orchestrated by Trump's campaign strategist who is a white-supremacist, and avowed sexist and anti-Semite. The other person who planned it is Kushner, Trump's son in law. Who is an Orthodox Jew.
Kushner is like a constant painful reminder of the crazy far-right parts of my family who would rather I didn't exist. I fucking hate him and I can't help but take it personally that he's a Jew who's helping the people who want to kill us. We're SUPPOSED TO BE BETTER THAN THAT! THAT'S KINDA THE WHOLE FUCKING POINT OF ALL OUR FUCKING HOLIDAYS!!! AAAARRRRRRRGH!!!!!!! (dies of rage)

Okay. Whatever. That was ugly and fuck that.

And then there was a moment when Anderson Cooper asked Trump if he understood that he'd been caught describing sexual assault on the tape. Trump had the actual nerve to say that it wasn't sexual assault! HE DOESN'T UNDERSTAND WHAT SEXUAL ASSAULT IS. THIS IS WHAT WE MEAN WHEN WE SAY MEN DON'T UNDERSTAND CONSENT. GOD. DAMN. IT.

Clinton was pretty good, though she could have given stronger answers a couple times. But at least she connected with the audience, made eye contact, stayed calm, answered the actual questions and tried to elevate the discussion to the level we should expect of a presidential debate. So at least there's that.

Trump was an ugly, racist, sexist mess though.

I heard online that his behaviour showed that he didn't want to be president and that she won. Jesus christ though.

I'm glad that Clinton still stayed strong and didn't do anything wrong. Trump pulling a dirty trick like that was.... I don't think words describe it.

How can a Jew be on that team though? That just doesn't make sense. He has to feel bad in some way you would think.Didn't think things were that much of a hot mess though. I just hope more and more people are starting to realize how toxic he truly his, Trump.

We truly don't need that in office. And if he's gonna go and say that it was nothing bad he said... That speaks volumes, but that might just us being women and overly sensitive like some men like to say. >.>

I think people are starting to think for the first time, maybe that is why it seems like more are angry.

I got a call yesterday for a survey on the election and I had to hold myself back from laughing a few times when they asked how I felt about Trump being a president and running our country and they even asked about the tape that was leaked. God that was not easy to do without laughing at all.
