There's also the ethnocentrism aspect of it too.

These people are convinced that they are inherently better than others and that's the only explanation they need for their hatred.

And incredibly, it seems to be really heavily weighted on white (sometimes English specific) supremacy, no matter which country you are in. The video in the article above made the point about how the Polish people didn't discriminate against the English people in their country, which really goes to show how one sided these things can be some times...

Not saying other forms of discrimination doesn't exist, it just never seems to go to the same degree.

Like the KKK in the United States and racial hate crimes here, race hate against "white" people is unheard of >.<

(Let me know if my discussion may be getting too controversial or if you are uncomfortable at any point :P)

No, it's nice to discuss something serious with sensible sides to it XD Especially seeing what's going on here!

It's true, and it's really odd that Polish people get targeted because frankly they're part of the backbone of the country right now. I've worked in places where Polish people were the only ones who would take the jobs (13-15 hour shifts, no choice about whether you worked days or nights, repetitive work with only 15 minute breaks every four or five hours) and English people considered themselves "too good" to take them. Without them, our commercial industry would collapse right now. No one seems to get that.

I guess some people look down on them for doing those kinds of jobs, but I have to respect them because it's hugely tough to do that then walk outside and face discrimination, and come back the next day to do it again. For years.

I find a similar case in North America. Honestly, everything is built off the backs of our immigrants. Without them, our economy and infrastructure would fall apart.

My grandmother was the first generation to immigrate to North America and she would tell me stories about the things she had to endure and do to survive. Well, my family technically immigrated to France first before coming to North America but it's a similar story in both places (but with France's living conditions being much worse...) Being an Immigrant means that the 'lower class' jobs are the only ones you can access, like factory working or janitorial work. It didn't matter if you worked as a nurse in another country, since it was recognized by the North American government.

I find it ridiculous when ignorant people look down on these immigrants and the jobs they are forced to take, and it's extremely ironic that some of these immigrants actually have a higher level of education than those who deem themselves superior.

In other news, I heard that the lead politician for leaving the EU had resigned? How is that going? D:

Oh, everybody's resigning. Two of our parties have lost their leaders and a third one is facing pressure to go as well, not to mention half of his cabinet have also resigned. It's all a shambles, honestly. But at least the good news is the most likely person to be our next prime minister is in favour of staying in the EU.

Bumpy~

Enjoying the summer event so far! Just the shirt to get to complete my first full set. I'm going to go around again a few times with the room items so I can get all my sea knuffel dressed up.

Bump again XD

New event! So many items to choose from, I don't know where I'm going first. Maybe the hair I guess, but I want all colours so I'll just save up for the whole lot at once. 63 colours is going to be a lot of posts...

Hi :) I tried a load of them with my current skin and I'm impressed how diverse they seem, some of them look a bit more "street" than most of the "fantasy" clothes we normally have. So I'm excited to get them all and start building avatars :D
