Hm, I'm not quite sure... but I think that by that definition I've never done anything except for RP, kind of? But just because we do it in person or via email or whatever, it's still interactive storytelling, and our characters are part of the story, which is your definition of RPG so I'm still a little confused.

Ah ok Lili, have you ever used maps or dice? Do you have a dungeon master who is in charge of things happening? Did you pick characters from or for certain roles like, healers, paladins, warriors, mages etc? That's RPG.

We definitely use maps, sometimes we use dice if we want to add a random element. Or flip coins. There's always a main storyteller-narrator, although we trade off who that is; it depends on what time period we use. Characters usually fill certain roles, but it's usually more like, "blacksmith" or "spice merchant" or "professional scribe" or "cobbler" or whatever.

Dice definitively makes it an RPG. Dungeonmaster/plot director makes it an RPG too.

Okay. I'm always confused by it, to be honest.
Especially because it's not actually got a "plot", you just have to have someone to do all the, well, background stuff. Someone has to be the deciding factor when you figure out how many pounds of sea urchin spines you can get for a bottle of scent, or figure out if the innkeeper is coughing because she's trying not to laugh or if she's got a contagious illness that might potentially spread, or keep track of the moon phases or decide how much you have to bribe a secretary so you can have a private interview with the correct minister...

That's a dungeonmaster, the person that controls the plot. That's RPG. In regular RP, anyone can make any of that up as they go along, so long as it's not god-moding. Which is, to control another person's character without their permission. That's a nono in any rp or rpg.

No worries, I also poofed. I had a really shite day yesterday technology wise xD
First, Flight rising was down for 5 hours. Then when I could finally get back in, My internet went down! So I had no pc for the rest of the day because when it finally came back I had to go to the other building where there is no pc.
Now today is flight rising 3rd birthday so they are going down for another 2.5hrs to prepare. SO EXCITED but ugh, what to do with myself for the next 2 hours xD
