You had 26 days - almost a full month! That is really long time for an event in my opinion.
It was enough time to collect 52 event items and there were only 24 different items available, so more than enough time to get all the times.

I was going for extras of particular items and when I went to water and fertilize yesterday realized I was three waters short and now I'm stuck making do with what I have. Yes, it was enough time to get 1 of each item, you're right - but there's no good reason for the water/fertalizer to have stopped dropping before they could be used in the garden. If I had extras in my invo that couldn't be used? So what.
