I just read this interesting article that theorizes that Trump's rise is a conservative response to Citizens United. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/03/28/us/politics/donald-trump-republican-voters.html?_r=1

Thoughts?

@Dragon, you are more aware of what is going on than most Americans are and that is truly sad. But I am glad you are. Thank you for your post.

You are correct on #1. Alot of people complain about the jobs but the thing is, is that alot of the people complaining are the ones who are not willing to do those jobs that migrants are taking. They refuse to work or just complain while they are not working hard for their things and see this other person doing everything else that they should actually be doing. In some cases yes migrants are not doing good, like paying taxes or whatever. But some are doing good and doing the right thing. And they are getting away from the bad for themselves and their families and alot of Americans don't see that or don't want to see that. Either way it's rather sick to be honest.

I am going to be a housewife soon and I have never had an issue with migrants working here or coming to this country. There are too many issues with this country and none of them are being fixed by the people in power but in some places no one really does much until things get to the point it's really bad (i.e. North Carolina that should not be spoken of >.>).

With your comment about Trump and his businesses, HAHA Thank you so much for saying that!!! Truly thank you. Not many people are even aware of that little bit of info at all. OR maybe don't even care at all. Either way, that is not the way to think of a damn candiate to run this country. A business man is not the way to think. But who would even consider thinking what is right and what isn't. Not many do or even care.

I still need to talk more to the fiance about him voting this year for the first time ever. I'm hoping he will look into the candiates more on his own and choose what he feels is right (he hates and is totally against Trump). I still need to register as a resident of Ohio to vote, but I got time at least. Just moved here a month ago so I still have sometime at least to do that one important thing. That will and must be done. Everyone needs to vote, but sadly not many do. I just hope this time round people will vote considering the hell of a circus we have going on.

Too bad we don't have more decent candiates instead of most crap every election.

So true about Americans not being willing to do the jobs! I once watched a documentary about how many businesses need illegal immigrants willing to work for virtually nothign to keep the American economy running. Jobs like picking crops for slave wages, digging trenches, affordable childcare, etc. All beneath what a typical American is willing to stoop to. Without that basic support, food prices would skyrocket, jobs would go undone, things would unravel. Even carnivals, most people don't realize that many carnies were felons, drug addicts, and wanted criminals! I was a carnie a decade back, I knew things inside and out. Pretty on the surface, ugly underneath. People that the average person would trust their kids around! Scary. About 5 years ago, they all started pushing out the bad guys and bringing in Mexicans. If their biggest crime is replacing criminals in a job relating to families... I cannot complain.

I have NEVER had to compete with illegal immigrants for any job. It always irks me when people complain about not being able to find a job, but the real complaint is that they are picky and they can't get the specific jobs they want. They'd rather be unemployed! Not to mention, in the past people migrated for jobs. Americans these days mostly refuse to. They'd rather sit at home and blame everyone else.

Also, according to statistics, only the first generation of immigrants are generally a strain. Their children and further descendants pay taxes, are educated, get good jobs, and help support our flailing growth rate. Otherwise, we'd be in the same boat as asia and unable to sustain our aging population. I've known legal and illegal immigrants. They work HARD. They work harder than the vast majority of Americans ever will. Yet, they are hated for it. Same as the natives, blacks, chinese, japanese, irish, etc. All labor workers of the past. All hated. People here just love having someone to hate.

ARGH! YOU GUYS!

http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/pre ... rump-rally

I just read this article about how a 15 year old girl was part of a Black Lives Matter counter-protest at a Trump rally yesterday. An old white guy then decides to get his jollies by arguing with her--give you three guesses why. And while its very hard to tell what happened, if you watch the videos of the incident you can clearly see this man repeatedly placing his hand across the breast of a 15 year old girl. Who then LOSES. HER. MIND. I mean, good for her, I guess. Honestly, she REALLY reminded me of my little sister when my little sister gets mad. So the girl punches the old man and then--are you ready for this?--GET PEPPER SPRAYED BY A TRUMP SUPPORTER.

That's right. A 15 year old girl is groped, defends herself and is then pepper sprayed. Police are currently looking for both the old man who touched her (because it really doesn't matter if you were touching a 15 year old girl for a straight up power play or because you actually intended it to be sexual assault, if you touch a minor's boobs on purpose against her will it's assault, no question) and the guy who pepper sprayed her. Because they were separate guys.

AND THEN!

Yeah, this story gets worse. AND then I go to the Janesville community facebook page and learn, because members of this community were warning each other about it, that one of the men in the video--the guy with the head band who is such a massive dick--is the leader of the local KKK in that area.

ARGH!!!!! SO MUCH AWFULNESS!!!!!! SO MUCH!!!!!!!

Pwale- ....... that is the worse thing I have ever read. I hope to god those fuckers get time in jail for that crap.... AND WHAT THE HELL? When I read it gets worse, jesus I never expected it to be that bad ; ; .... I think I have no hope for the people of this country at the moment who are supporting that moron. More so than before. :mcargh:

Your first article about the GOP, my brain gave up after awhile of reading it. I just couldn't handle it. I might try later though.

wolfcat87- *round of applause* Yes, so very yes on everything you said. My god, I am so glad someone said it finally. Not many people even say that stuff or even know it and I am so happy I read your post today. Thank you for saying everything. Now if only those bad Americans will get it through their heads to start to fix things, we will start to be happier and alot more calmer because we wouldn't have to handle the morons being in our head (the thoughts that they are even there to begin with). Sometimes its hard for me to believe that people are like that and they are the ones being more recognized for their stupidity and laziness than the ones who truly matter. The ones making this country, or at least trying to; to be a better place.

My brain is dead at the moment. Time to stare at cats to make it work again.

It's something awful every day with this guy.

Today Trump said that women who have had an illegal abortion should be punished with jail time.

Now, this has been tried in the past and the only result is that women who have had an illegal abortion and are experiencing complications or injuries are too frightened to get the medical help they need and so they die. This is because if a woman is desperate enough to have an illegal abortion the threat of imprisonment is not an effective deterrent.

Ugh...

A statement he is now attempting to walk back after universal condemnation from both pro-choice and anti-abortion groups--and when was the last time they agreed on anything?

And it raises the question, did he threaten women because he legitimately did not understand the issue, or was he so determined to seem as pro-life as possible that he just did not care about the ramifications of his proposal if it might get him more votes?

Please for the sake of life, he had to not of known the truth of the situation. Because the other option means we need to kill that bastard now. Sadly some men who are married in public office have no idea what the hell a damn period is. One moron even said we choose to do it to get time off work and other crap like it.... And he's married to a woman, so what the hell? :mcangry:

And I am so happy that they are joining forces. The fact they are is a great thing. Proves people are sick of this crap. And jesus christ, don't god damn put women in jail just because of us having abortions... Seriously?? And we let the damn pedos out near kids and us women having an abortion is more serious of an issue than that....??? Ya of course that makes all the sense in the world... I think someone needs to smack several people in the head with a two by four multiple times. Not like it would smack sense into them... Just for the fun of it really.

I apologize for the kindness to people. >.>

A lot of people in the media are wondering if maybe that was the straw that broke the camels back and if, after a week that began with his campaign manager being arrested for battery and ended with him threatening women and coming out as against the Geneva Conventions for some completely unfathomable reason, this is finally the moment Trump falls.

I dunno. We've all thought that a million times since this whole mess started and we've never been right so far, but I do think the chance of a contested convention is looking more and more likely.

If it does end up at a contested convention, I think most people are betting the eventual nominee will be Cruz though some people are holding out hope that House Speaker Paul Ryan will enter the fray. He's said he won't, but then again he said the same thing about becoming Speaker of the House. Personally, I doubt he'd run because there's very little chance he could win and he doesn't strike me as the sort of person who would run if he didn't have a chance.

I truly hope something comes out of this crap.

Was at the store yesterday and saw a People magazine with Trump in it.
They interviewed him and it's supposed to say the truth of how he truly feels about women.... I rolled my eyes and walked away.

I don't blame Ryan for not running if he didn't have a chance. Kinda understand that feeling. I just truly hope something comes out of this. Like you said, the straw that broke the camels back.

People? Oh geez...

I find it somewhat disturbing how magazines like People and Time are somehow not included in the media loathing of the Trump followers.

People and Time both have their places on the newsstand, but I would never turn to either in the effort of informing myself. Now, I have a hard-core group of five news sources (New York Times, Politico, Washington Post, Al Jazeera) I check more in a day than Facebook which I am happy to admit is somewhat obsessive and way more than most people would have time for. So maybe I'm not one to judge but....

But every time Trump gets up in front of a crowd and brags about how he's been on the cover of Time so many times during this election cycle it makes me want to gag. Has Time somehow become the publication of record without anyone noticing? And why the hell is People Magazine more credible than CNN? HAS THE WORLD GONE CRAZY?!!?!

And then I remember the fact that right wind talk radio show hosts have been convincing a huge proportion of Americans that media ALWAYS lies for decades and that Trump is...well, Drumpf-ish. And it all starts to make sense. Horrible, depressing sense.
