I've had both dwarf and teddy bear (or Syrian) hamsters and have found that a dwarf hamster is more likely to actually bite your face than the Syrian. Dwarfs are kinda more aggressive, but they are so small and cute.~

She sounds very cute, Memoriam. My mom would never allow me to have a rat or mouse as a pet, just the idea of having one in the house upsets her. I'm staying away from small pets for now, cats and dogs are just able to show their love for you in more obvious ways and I really like that.

Huh, didn't know that. But I've had a whole bunch of Roboowski hamsters and they really didn't bite me not once. They were a little agressive amongst each other tho

She is. Rats are very active and sociable. For instance, did you know that they are all ticklish on their tummies? That's how they bond, by tickling each other's tummies :) And when they show you affection they lick your hands and nibble at your skin :) So adorable But of course I understand the love for dogs and cats, they're lovely too. Even so, I can't even decide which I like more XD

I know people say dwarf hamsters are more aggressive (especially the Roborowski) but I think it really depends on the hamster's personality. Some are aggressive, some aren't. Out of the 6 hamsters I had only 1 was kind of aggressive and even he usually tolerated me when I tried to touch him. The rest was really cuddly and I even had 2 of them happily living in one cage once.

I had a cat while I was in high school that would bite my face... She bit just tightly enough that I would be still and let her keep licking my face. Apparently, I tasted delicious when I got home from soccer practice Her tongue was great for exfoliating my pores.

My cat likes to lick my face too, especially if he is trying to get attention from me while I'm trying to sleep. He will search for my face in the pillows and lick it... at least he doesn't bite my scalp and pull my hair like my other cat did.

I've always had cats who thought I needed washing. :) My first cat used to wash my entire face whenever I'd let her. She's the only one who thought the inside of my nose might be dirty. My second cat used to chew on my hair and ears in the morning when she thought it was time to get up and feed her. My current cats are much more mellow about it, but the older one likes to lick people when they're brushing her, and the little one mostly only goes after hands, and only when she's sleepy.

I think it's basically the cutest. XD

I have horror stories about gerbils, though. I think small rodents are really cute, but I never want to own one again. I kind of wish I knew someone who did, so I could visit them and observe their cuteness not in a pet shop, but ....nope. Not for me.

My boyfriend had a cat that basically was raised with him, and she was absolutely used to licking his hair. It became a problem when he let it grow though

What about gerbils? My bf had a whole herd of them once and he never said a bad thing about them. Maybe the thing that his little sister opened the door to their room and let the cat in, deciding it's Tom&Jerry playtime... You can imagine what was left from the poor herd of gerbils

It is awkwardly hilarious to watch my cat get my hair in her mouth now. It's very long, so she makes this uncomfortable "ack, get it off" face :P

I have taken care of rats before.
Someone moved and asked me to take care of them for them for a while.

I don't know what breed they were though.

One was white with a large greyish black patch on his back and the other was mostly white with some brownish spots.

When left to roam about a closed off room however, The had a thing for crawling up sleeves, If you were wearing a open collared shirt they would climb under the collar. If you had your arms crossed they would try to wedge themselves in the crease of ones elbow

Although the rats were only temporarily under my jurisdiction, I now have a cat though plus one other that a family friend at the time never bothered picking back up again.

Funnily enough there was no issues between the rats and the cats and vice versa

We have 2 dogs, 7 cats, 2 betta fish and hermit crabs.

We didn't intend to get 7 cats, but sometimes they find you :) . It all works out--we have a big house so there's space for everyone.
