His favorite thing is indeed Relax Tea, but he also likes Honey, Sweet Potato, Lumber, Stone. From what I know, he does not really have any dislikes, though it could be that I just have not found them yet.

Found something new!
Water Shoes will allow you to walk on water!
With these shoes equipped, go to the lily pad areas and walk around on the water near the edge and you will find a secret area with a chest filled with high level crafting recipes.

They do indeed work. I just used them for a fishing festival and they were invaluable.
