I too lurk and I wish it was all just popups and digging, but even the digging I can't do for long because I only have two knuffels and one is a wild so he can't dig. Been kinda hard to keep up and I've skipped a lot of the tasks because of it. Maybe the events should get a revamp to where they're like games we can play, or flying things around the screen we can catch, or even make a trick or treating option. I know this site has been around a very long time yet nothing has really been changed or updated much, so it's basically still an interactive forum site with sprites. Gotta get with the times guys and start updating to flash stuff because other sites are way ahead of you on the event front
Other sites might have enough income to hire staff to do the work though. Since all the coding is done by starkad alone (who has a RL job and is also an university student at the same time!), this will never happen for us and other sites will stay ahead of us forever. Though I have to admit I am not sure which other sites you are talking about. Gaiaonline is obviously a million business and not comparable.TinierMe was shut down because it wasn't making enough money, Roliana has been struggling for years and didn't have any events for a long time at all, Menewsha also cut down on the events years ago, as they could not afford them, Zantarni never had any flash components to their site at all, as far as I know. If I look at forum based avatar sites comparable to our sizes, they don't really seem that much ahead. Some even seem rather behind.

Also, even if it was possible: What you ask for would require months of coding. Just the event we already had required a lot of time to draw and code and personally, if someone tells me he is not willing to spend an hour a day on a task (every few days, since some tasks only required 5 minutes of work) because he considers it too much work, I don't really feel too willing to put even more work into this, so he has even less work. Just doesn't seem worth the effort to spend even more time and work on this event for us, just so users can spend even less time on it. :mcheh:

So, even though your feedback is appreciated: It is just not possible for just one single person do make fancy flash games for just one event in his free time. As soon as one event is over we basically start working on the next already. That is how long they take us, there just isn't any spare time for more while also attending to the regular site updates. So even if we wanted, we could not offer any of the things you are requesting.

And glad we are for every second of your time :qc: I remember that some years back I was just a moderator on one (at that time) very lively community, and even if all I did was moving posts, merging topics and stuff like that, it was still very time-consumming. And this event is really funny! *giggles*

Wow, really? I never put much thought into the staff, but it makes sense. KofK has much less ads and annoying product pushing like certain other sites with large staffs, I rather like how you're still true to the Knuffle theme instead of an annoying Knuffle-Coke-Mitsubishi-Tampax theme.

The event seems fine to me, when the elusive fish aren't taunting me. Evil, elusive fish... But I guess the event wouldn't be going so well if there wasn't any challenge to it.

*EDIT*
And I just got the last item and it was so worth those stupid fish hiding under rocks and not letting me get their items! Thank, Firn and Starkad! It's a wonderful way to end the event!

I'd to say that honestly this is one of my favourite halloween events if not THE favourite, I love the items, I love that the ways to get each item varies, honestly I like that the posting method is there too because it pushes users to be more active, I know that I'm a lazy member xD and in events I use the posting to update my regular quests and trading, so I think it's great ^^

I can only speak for myself, of course, but I'm glad the site doesn't have fancy flash stuff just because it's "modern" or something. I'm not a fan of flash in general, but it's ok as long as it makes sense to use it. But not just because.

It's not really important how things on a site work (as long as they work properly), the actual content matters much more.

Just want to say with the Flash talk. You don't want to do flash because flash doesn't work on smart phones and tablets. Some people might not even be able to play the event if it was flash. I wish flash didn't full back from these things. :mccry:

Also The pop-ups may have been best for you, but they were hell for me. XD

Personally I think this has been the best event ever on KOfK!!! I was thinking the other day, the only thing that would make this event better, would be a Event Knuffel, AND WHAT DO WE GET THE LAST DAY!?!?!??!?!?! O A O!!!!

Firn...

Starkad...

You two knocked it out of the ball park. :qh:

Even though some people didn't like it, I am very happy about the amount of positive feedback we also got.
The idea behind this was to mix everything up, so that everyone could find some part of the event to like. Obviously this means that there might be other parts of the event which you might not like much or at all, but I think it is still a good solution to have to for example post for two days during an event, even though you don't like posting (or to skip the task and buy the components needed or the item itself from the market), instead of having an event that consists of posting only for a full month.
