You'll be creating your own doll base, right? If so, I don't see why not... though you shouldn't make it too small, because it'll be difficult to pick apart the details.

As for pre-made doll bases... I guess it's okay as long as you give the base-maker credit and if they allow it.

Ah, I don't see why you can't name it if you want to, but I think it's also good to leave the option for Firn to name it or change the name if she'd prefer.

I think full-body is preferred, since this is a character designing contest. Even if the whole body doesn't show for the shop layout, Firn might have further uses for them other than that in the future. The character is probably going to be chibified for the shops. :3
