i'm not one who's ever really had many, if any friends and lately i've been feeling kinda lonely for it.
(why is making/keeping friends so hard? ; w ;)

but modern social medias are.. not very social these days and are more like promo machines than they are social media so idk where to turn to for some actual socialization anymore.

how's your day going today?
have you done anything new or fun lately?
got any hobbies you've been working on currently?

my day didn't start out too great.
one of my cats snuck into a room they weren't allowed in, another gobbled down food they weren't supposed to have and i accidentally caused my pc to shut down when i had 3 art programs open working on stuff.
(art was recovered, now i'm just worried about my cat having tummy troubles for gobbling down my parents' cat's food).

i've currently been trying to focus on practicing art more, well, studying really. i tend to neglect doing studies as i often find it difficult to know what to practice on.
(i'm actually trying to organize a summer art study guide for any and all to use and it's taking quite a bit more time than i realized ; w ; i'm ready to work on personal/fun stuff again).

i've also been working on fanart for the first time ever. i've had so many things i've wanted to draw over the years; i'm not sure why i hadn't done any before, tho.
it's been a bit difficult to focus on art as well bc i've become COMPLETELY addicted to the new Fantasy Life i game. it's so much fun ~

I ALSO JUST LEARNED THERE'S GOING TO BE A NEW NO STRAIGHT ROADS [ 2 ] GAME. excited to see more from the developers ~

I have to keep an eye on my cats too. They loooove to get locked in the No Solo Cat Zones, like the bedroom (and hide in my clean clothes) or the office (and eat my plants).

I've let a lot of my art go a lot further than I thought I would. I'm trying to get back at it too. Do you have a site or online gallery?

i haven't really got an active gallery at the moment, i've been trying to work on building one up but other things have kept coming up lately that haven't left me any time to sit down and work on one. i'm looking to try and get into VGen to hopefully set up a shop there eventually.

what kind of art do you like to do?

Hee, I have the same problem with my female cats: if they want to be somewhere, they are going to be there, no matter what. Including if I am actively sweeping. Does not matter how much hallway I give them, they will run right through that dirt pile without fail. Drives me bonkers.

VGen looks pretty cool. I hadn't heard of them before, but I really like their opening statements. And I'm getting tempted to give them a try! Cara.app is a pretty good online community (that's also anti-Generative-AI) if you don't want to do a mainstream one like deviantART (which welcomes AI).

The art I like to do is illustrations. Some day I'll get to start on my dream of being a fairytale and nursery rhyme illustrator. Until then, the most I've put out in the past few years to pay the bills is realism and fine art.

I also have a hard time making friends, but to be honest, I feel okay with that.

VGen is pretty popular among vtubers and streaming artists. tho, it seems kind of a pain to get verified to start selling on there. at least it's opened up a bit more than how it used to be bc they used to only allow people to sell on there if the dev team themselves had let people in, now they let people gift codes to verified artists who think others will be within the conduct there. wish you luck if you also try to get in!

i have a cara! i really liked how friendly and talkative everyone was when it first got popular but i feel, similar to bluesky, it's kinda lulled a bit, tho, admittedly, i haven't been on there much lately. i'm honestly quite baffled how many artists who have complained about genAI being let in on so many sites are still using those sites after making a big stink about it. (especially, deviantArt.. like do you even get to see actual artists on there anymore through all the slop?)

oh, wow! i've never been one able to do realism. i admire those who have the patience for it! but, oh, your goal sounds like so much fun! wishing you all the best for that journey ~

i mostly like to do digital art chibi and character designs. i would love to practice more on designing OCs (or vtuber designs) possibly to sell bc it's always seemed really fun to do and i REALLY want to get better are drawing furry art bc there's some artists i really admire their furry art style but i'm not that great with animal anatomy LOL i need to practice more ~

but i'd be lying if i said i wouldn't like at least a couple more genuine, compatible and stable friends
