You'll notice a few things have changed: if you can't find the games, that's because they're gone. After Flash stopped being supported, they went too.
But we can trade knuffel now!
So much better than the risky method of trying to be online at the same time and coordinate a drop/readopt!
Hm, hm, trying to think of what all else might have been new if you were away for long enough.

How long was your absence?
Are we talking a decade or maybe a year?

Were you here when Firn introduced the Digging Items?
Those are a fun surprise when you're digging and come across them.

And there are Lost items now that she'll sometimes release, you have to navigate to the correct page of the website to find them, and you can grab them from a pop-up. They don't stay forever, they'll just appear when she pleases, and then stay for a day or two (each account only gets one), and then they're gone.

There's donation perks now, as an incentive to donate so she can keep the place running.

And the top posters each month get a prize of that month's top donation perk.

Hmmmm what else?

The Candy Caravan event is relatively new. Grog shows up with a travelling event shop about once a month or so, usually stays around for a few days, maybe five-ish.
His event currency is on a permanent counter and you don't lose it between his visits.
In fact, you can gain it between visits!
You can randomly get donuts (the currency for his shop) by posting when he's not here (0-3 donuts; mostly 0 but sometimes up to 3 at once).
When the event is active, you get a set one per post.

His items cycle through and the oldest one disappears every three visits, and the newest one gets introduced to replace it.

They don't have a set theme or naming convention, as far as we've seen, so it can be tough to tell if a random item you see in the market is from Grog's shop or something else.

Can I also ask how to get quest materials? I've accepted a quest, but I haven't seen any materials pop up recently.

Oh! Yes, those are from digging at Candy Island; I need to get back to compiling the specific digging guide list of what items are found in what areas.
When your digging levels in an area are higher, you not only have a better chance of finding something, you have a better chance of finding an item that's higher on the rareness scale (if that makes sense. The phrasing seems clunky)

But there are some people who will help you out with Quest materials for free; check out the Shops section in the forum, I think they're at?
Or just post a "looking for XXX materials" if you get too frustrated; often folk are happy to offload their piles of unused materials.

Edit: I sent you a couple of lvl 100 water knuffel to help get you started.
You'll have to feed and play with them until they're ready to dig, but that's still a total of +50 digging chances.
