I was trying to move messages to an empty folder but instead went to my inbox and filtered out other messages. I need them back please

I made an empty saved folder for the messages to go into but it went to inbox instead and it filtered out some messages. They’re gone. I can’t find them anywhere

I think what redk5 is saying is that new PMs came in and deleted old PMs. They created a new folder thinking the PMs would go in there instead and leave the messages in the inboxes alone, but the messages didn't go into the folder and they ended up losing old PMs they wanted to keep.

I will have to ask starkad whether the PMs can somehow be retrieved, but I don't really think so.
