I'm going to stay in a treehouse hut thing that's half-open to the creatures and elements, during the monsoon no less. But it's because the monsoon is the off-season that they offered a monthly stay at cheaper than renting a studio unit in my city for a month would be (even excluding a deposit!!!) I can't quite afford to move out away from my family yet but I CAN afford this, and I have needed to get away for a WHILE.

To be honest I am both excited and nervous, a little frightened even. But all I'm really worried about is the bathroom. If that turns out to be clean, I'll be able to live there. And adjust to anything else.

They assure me that the wi-fi situation is manageable (I need to continue working remotely from there after all) so I should be able to collect my troth tokens and chat with y'all here once I'm there.

That's harder, to my mind. That's an ongoing, you have to live with it forever thing, instead of one single moment that's the exception instead of the rule.

I'm super happy that you're giving yourself the away time that you need. I can't afford to do that yet but I would love to bring my mom and baby to Italy. :)

I've never been on a plane before. I'd have to really cling to my anxiety meds to get me there lol.

I just booked my return flight. But I understand the anxiety. Depending on where you want to go you might not have to take one.

That sounds scary....mainly bc of monsoon.

I don't have or want those here XD

But minus that and depending on what type of creatures are in that area, sounds good. (People see mountain lions around here sometimes)

I also went on my first solo trip at 26.
Actually, I moved accross the world at 26, first plane trip, second time living alone and the first time did not even go well. Best decision I ever made.

I hope you have fun during your trip and that it'll help you feeling a bit better or at least clearer about things.
Have fun!

This thread actually inspired me to make plans for a trip once I graduate from college. I think I'll go up to Arkansas and dig for quartz points that I'll turn into jewelry :)
