Hi, I know a while back there's been a problem with bot topics in the forums and today I found a shady PM in my folder from Jamessog. Not sure what was inside, since the subject was most likely in Russian and I immediately deleted the message.

It's a very new account and it has a shady non-working link in its signature, so I think it's worth looking into?

Also, is there a better way to report such incidents? I didn't find any button for reporting messages but it's possible I overlooked something. Thanks.

yea, i just came here to ask how to report an account. it's only just joined a few days ago and sent me a pm with 'chargeback' links in it? this is definitely a scam.

Thanks for letting me know. We have disabled the ability for accounts without avatars - which are 99,9% bots - to post in the forums, but apparently the bots have now switched to PMs. I'll let starkad know and have him include PMs to the restriction, but it might take a while.

I got a message from that account as well. I used google translate to figure out what it said and the subject said "pick up a w****" (I censored that word not them just fyi) but the message itself said "You can order any blades from us" and the link was under that. It also had the number 123 at the bottom of the message. I reported it by clicking the exclamation mark button above the quote button.

oh, ok, thanks. I didn’t want to open the message. Which made me think - Firn, would you and starkad consider putting the report option into the little roll menu that can be used to delete more messages at once? I know there are other things that need looking into but I think it might be useful
