OneDrive - A rant!

I'm EXTREMELY angry with OneDrive.

It came preinstalled with my computer.
I had disabled it, but I recently restarted the OS to default settings and of course it got enabled again. But I forgot to disable it again at first.

Well, now I decided to get rid of it.
And what happens? Now my Documents folder is EMPTY.
Ok, I should go to my OneDrive online and recover whatever is there. But alas, no, only a few of my documents are actually stored there!

So the ***** OneDrive stored online some documents and I almost have a fit thinking I had lost everything else!! :mcshout:
Oh, no, apparently it's stored somewhere in my computer, and I found them, no harm done, but I really really had a bad time.

Hate it.

I also hate OneDrive

I deleted/disabled it because it was annoying me and then suddenly all my saved SIMS files were gone along with some other folders/documents that I didn't think I had saved there.

So frustrating - now my OneNote wont sync but at least my documents feel safer.

Sims? Like in the Sims game? Those were ones I thought were lost too :mclaugh:
But, yeah, apparently they are stored in another folder, it only appeared empty.
Near heart attack, I tell you!

Also I don't see the point in having a backup for everything.
Some of the files are worth storing safely indeed, but of them not so much - I just need them accesible right now.

Aha yes! The Sims game :mcheh: I was gutted at first~ I have so much custom mods and I thought they were all gone.
Sadly it's pretty much the way of the future with saving things to the cloud etc

Personally it seems more risky but idk I guess it's a money-make for them.

Yeah, that bothered me a bit too.
I had finally re-arranged and labeled all my mods (cause I did not know any longer what I had) and losing them was a pain in the ass.
Still not something I would need to access elsewhere, so a hard drive backup is more than enough - and apparently I should be doing it soon.

But, yeah, random files in the cloud does not feel safer for me.
What if I have some official files. Damn, I even have my digital signature, and if someone gets that they could pose as me! :mcmeh:

I work in IT, and for some systems and servers the cloud is great - but storing data? No sir.

I don't like the idea of my personal data being just like... somewhere~ At least I can keep it safe on my own desktop lol (and backed up ofc)

Yeah, I'm not against it as a general rule.
I have all of my work documents on the cloud, cause I can access them at work - using my tablet or the school computers - and also at home in my desktop computers.

But, you know, those documents I already have them in whatever site I find more useful.
And I chose it on purpose.

This feels like something that's done behind my back.

I think I have one drive too, and when I go to documents I am currently working on, it doesn't show me the current ones... just old ones that were shared with me. I have to access the newer stuff a different way.

See? You think you do have it, but it's so sneaky we can't even be 100% sure anymore ¬¬

I checked. I do have it; therefore, my complaint about having to access my new documents by going through another way into one drive is relevant.
