What do you remember from 2021?

Well, since it's the 31st I've been reminiscing about my life during the year and realized that despite a pandemic (or because of the pandemic) I still managed to have a few new experiences and things happen to me.

So I've been wondering, what will you remember from your 2021?

Probably dressing my grandfather up as a pirate after his fall and making him pose with a saber. He looked so badass! (Can I say that here?)
Also some really awful funerals. 2021 was not a fun year.
Good news is my grandfather is not one of those funerals.

FCBD was held in August... which was kinda nice, getting to see people I haven't seen in over a year...

I ... totally forgot to answer to my own topic XD

I'll go with the main event that is being hospitalized for a tooth.
Being scared for a friend who discovered after being in the ICU that she might have cancer (thankfully, it's not, but it's not the best result either).
Oh and I've been fired.

As for the good things I've managed to take my first solo trip ever since I came here which has been a while. Also completed my second novel for Nano.

I guess I remember starting in my new workplace, which is where I plan to be working for a handful of years.

@Kuuki: I was also fired!
Been having a tough time with my depression, so been unemployed for most of 2021 - finally felt well enough to work again (plus money situation is very dire now, have burnt through my savings..) and so got a job at a sandwich shop in December.. and I ended up being unable to stop crying on my third shift and got fired Dx

Hopefully shall get another job that I manage to not break down at soon though.

Other things that happened last year include getting dental work done and being mostly fine/ not letting my phobia stop me from getting treatment that I needed (woo!), I met my baby niece for the first time and I guess I managed to survive another year of being super down without hurting myself - trying to see the positives haha

Are you me? XD

I mean, I'm lucky enough to have a husband who makes more than enough for the both of us but I have been dealing with depression as well. Until I got out of it in November and had a surge of motivation.

And I have a dentist phobia (but lucked out with my new resident dentist at the hospital so while I'm still scared shitless at least we both laugh about it). And got two teeth out. They had been problematic for years.

I think you did well this year! In the mess we're in seeing the positives isn't always easy and being able to find some is already pretty good in my opinion.

Ah, thank you <3

I'm glad things have been getting better for you - and hopefully things will start looking up for me soon too xP

Got a job interview coming up anyway, so that's something at least c:

Whenever I was job searching I've always found it harder to actually send my resume. I mean, you need motivation to do that, which can be hard to come by, especially when you're depressed.

Once I have an interview it gets easier. Though I get nervous. (But nowhere near my levels of nervousness when I need to go to the dentist XD)

I'm sure you'll do well! And if you don't get the job, it's always good practice for the next one.
Good luck! :qh:

The thing I will remember most fondly about 2021 was at the very end - I got to reunite with my fiance after 7+ months apart due to health reasons. It makes all of the health problems I have been dealing with this last year worth it to just be by his side again.
