The 2022 Reading Challenge

If you have a reading goal for 2022, feel free to talk about it and keep track of it here!

The Goal:

The goal can be anything you want: Reading 1 book, 10 books, 25 books, 50 books, 100 books, reading a certain series, reading a certain number of pages, reading the same book 50 times, etc. Your goal is whatever you want and whatever is challenging yet still fun for you. It's a personal challenge, not a contest. So you set your goal and go at your own pace.

The Books:

You can count or not count any books you want. If you want to count audio books, then do it. If not, then don't. If you want to count manga, then do it. If not, then don't. If you want to count magazines, then do it. If not, then don't. If you want to count books for school, then do it. If not, then don't. It's all up to you!

The Rules:

1. Follow KofK's rules.

2. Don't make fun of anyone for having a different goal than you. We all have different obligations, and priorities, and free time, etc, so all of our reading goals are going to be different, and that's ok. One person might easily finish a 500 page book in a few days, while someone else might struggle to finish 500 pages in a few months, and that's ok. We're not racing, rushing, or competing. We're motivating, encouraging, and having fun.

3. If you want to talk about something that happened in a book, put it in a spoiler.

Who Can Join:
Anyone! Just jump in and say what your goal is!

Deadline for joining:
Feel free to join in any time before 2023!

Well well well. Let's see if I can make my goal for 2022. I'm setting it at 6 books this year, roughly the same books I had on my list from last year. Decided on 6 so I can do one book every two months so if I fall behind I'll have plenty of time to catch up. And if I'm in a major reading mood then I can read more and hit my goal. Definitely not going to get distracted by everything else this year. Mostly still books I wanted to read last year but failed at.

Overall goal: 6
Completed: 6

The list:
Spoiler
The Faithful and the Fallen Series by John Gwynne
Valor
Ruin
Wrath

Inheritance Trilogy by N.K. Jemisin
The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms
The Broken Kingdoms
The Kingdom of Gods
Tentative list of books if I hit my goal or don't want to read what I still had planned from my mostly 2021 list. Mostly series that need to be finish lol
Spoiler
The Lunar Chronicles By Marissa Meyer
Winter

The Paper Magician Series by Charlie N. Holmberg
The Glass Magician
The Master Magician
The Plastic Magician

Light Bringer by Brent Weeks
The Broken Eye

The Witcher by Andrzej Sapkowski
The Last Wish

I'm not really sure what my goal will be yet. Maybe 7.

I'm not sure I'll even set a goal, but I'm having fun debating what my "first book of the year" will be.
...
I'll probably forget what I wanted to do and end up picking up one of the maths books I'm in the middle of, but it's fun to dream.

I've set my GoodReads challenge to 35 books.
So I want to create here a different challenge, as the one I did (and forgot about :mcheh: ) last year. But hopefully this time I'll remember it!

My aim is to read this year at least 2 books in each of the following categories:
- books in Galician language
- about feminism
- books related to science/maths
- any of the books that have been sitting on my to-read list for way too long.

I'm currently reading two books, but since I started them last year I won't count them towards this specific challenge - only for he GR one.
So from here on I'll try to be a bit more mindful about which book I read next.

Oh! Hello~ I do love me some confetti welcomings. Thank you!

And it's not like I don't enjoy my me reading time! It's just that when it does happen I fall into the reading hole. Till the eyeballs fall out. :mccute:

Ooooh, yeah, I get that. You never know when to stop because you want to read "just one more chapter" and before you know it, it's sunrise and you have a test at 8:30 am :mcargh: I used to do that back in highschool, and then slowly but surely kind of stopped reading...
