The 2021 Reading Challenge
If you have a reading goal for 2021, feel free to talk about it and keep track of it here!
The Goal:
The goal can be anything you want: Reading 1 book in 2021, 10 books in 2021, 25 books in 2021, 50 books in 2021, 100 books in 2021, reading a certain series in 2021, reading a certain number of pages in 2021, reading the same book 50 times in 2021, etc. Your goal is whatever you want and whatever is challenging yet still fun for you. It's a personal challenge, not a contest. So you set your goal and go at your own pace.
The Books:
You can count or not count any books you want. If you want to count audio books, then do it. If not, then don't. If you want to count manga, then do it. If not, then don't. If you want to count magazines, then do it. If not, then don't. If you want to count books for school, then do it. If not, then don't. It's all up to you!
The Rules:
1. Follow KofK's rules.
2. Don't make fun of anyone for having a different goal than you. We all have different obligations, and priorities, and free time, etc, so all of our reading goals are going to be different, and that's ok. One person might easily finish a 500 page book in a few days, while someone else might struggle to finish 500 pages in a few months, and that's ok. We're not racing, rushing, or competing. We're motivating, encouraging, and having fun.
3. If you want to talk about something that happened in a book, put it in a spoiler.
Who Can Join:
Anyone! Just jump in and say what your goal is!
Deadline for joining:
Feel free to join in any time before 2022!

I'm definitely joining in again this year! This year I am only including books I OWN so maybe I can resist the temptation of buying a ton of books (only exception is if I fall off my planned series and start one of the many I own majority of and want to buy the final novels in the series)
Overall goal: 10
Completed: 2
The list:
Spoiler
The Faithful and the Fallen Series by John Gwynne
Malice
Valor
Ruin
Wrath
The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson
Rhythm of War
The Lunar Chronicles By Marissa Meyer
Winter
Inheritance Trilogy by N.K. Jemisin
The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms
The Broken Kingdoms
The Kingdom of Gods
The Witcher by Andrzej Sapkowski
The Last Wish
(listed in no particular order)
Tentative list of books I'll read if I have time by the end of the year or need a break from thick books:
Spoiler
The Paper Magician Series by Charlie N. Holmberg
The Glass Magician
The Master Magician
The Plastic Magician
Light Bringer by Brent Weeks
The Broken Eye

oh yes, limiting the list to the books you own should help!
(but will it?
)

I MEAN IF I'M OUT SHOPPING WITH SOMEONE AND THEY WANT TO STOP BY THE BOOKSTORE >_>
I'm hoping! My to-read outweighs my read because I have a problem! Lol.

I wish I had the motivation this year to do 20 books. I would get a good chunk of my ever growing to-reads down.
Good luck Saphira, I know that pain of leaving books just sitting around.
I am starting Rhythm of War by Brandon Sanderson and I anticipate it taking me until the end of February/early March to finish it. I am quite a slow reader and I don't want to spend more than my usual hour or so before bed to reading since I'm currently addicted to my cross stitching project.

good luck everyone!
@Rubie: if you manage the books on your first list, you'll be close to 20. and if you manage those on the second, you'll surpass it!

I finished my first book of the year, but it was just a kid's book. It was called Crazy Lady. I liked it up until the end.
I was also reading a teen book called Full Disclosure, but I didn't care for that one. I got maybe 2/3 or so of the way through it and gave up on it. It's highly rated, but it's not my cup of tea. One of those really mundane slice of life kind of things.
